Also lets not forget that SOE in an attempt to increase sales, bought another dying game Matrix Online. And they added this game with the station access package. The thing though, is that right before they bought Matrix Online, Matrix Online signed with SOE for 4 servers to move to SOE, so Matrix merged 12 servers into 4 and then passed it to SOE.

Go check how Matrix is doing... its not a pretty sigh.

All they ever think of is money, the customer base is not something they give a rats @ss about.

As for this game.... Im still in shock how they can revamp a live MMO TWICE. I cant wait to see the damage. I would of much prefered they shut down they game rather then do this in an attempt to make money once again. I would of prefered losing my character to a /format of the servers rather to a tight FPS conversion.

and to add insult to injury... you cant even ebay a jedi anymore with this starting profession sh!t.

Well my fealing is that this new NGE or whatever they call this disaster, will have great sales when launched. Im sure they will get many many new customers. The reason being is that now Jedi is free. You can start with is, so all the people that wanted to play Jedi on this game but dint have the time or couldnt handle the task, will be able to do so now. And thus Im sure many people will jump on the occassion. But what made us all play or 90% of the people play past publish 9 was the grind to get jedi. Everyone was pretty much grinding and by SOE manipulating the game with little nerfs here and there, they kept us all in check. But now that that "unlocking" grind is gone, it will be a phase I believe. People will get it... play with it... get bored and move on. There will be nothing to hold onto, its not like it was where if we dint like the CU we still kept the account althea we dint play simply cause it was something rare... now its common... no prestige.

So yea, I give it 1 year roughly. Already there are people, leaders of rebels and imp, on my server that called it quits... that drags down a lot of people. SOE and LA think they got things in control, but its not the case. Apart from losing clientel they are losing trust from loyal customers. That is what will hurt them in the long run.

Blizzard today released another 5 servers "realms". Its seems what ever customers SOE is losing Blizzard is absorbing. And wait till STO (star trek online) comes out. Star Wars is a big name, but Star Trek is just as big. If Blizzard doesnt take out SOE, STO will definetly deathblow SWG... so 1 year roughly.

Server mergers are out of the question, that has already been ruled on.

The best we can hope for is that Jedi will be allowed to move their characters, alts, and equipment from one server to another now that they are a common class.

i've heard that matrix online is going to get a combat revamp and judging from the stellar job the boys and gals at SOE have done with SWG, i'm sure that the MXO CU will be just as impressive

This game is done in April 06, there will either be a new Combat Downgrade orSwg will be on PS3 and Star Wars Galaxies 2 mmowill be released soon after to compete withStar Trek Online. The Star Wars name/franchise is way too big of a money maker to not consider the possibilty of a new mmo already in the works or plans for one, don't be fooled George knows this.
