It seems like Jedi in the movies are much more formidable than in this game.
For the movies to be like this game the jedi should have one-hit kill. Not gonna happen.

im just sayin it would be cool if they did little things like hilted sabers, robe customization, and making 2 jedi factions (rather than imp/reb) then we would all be a lot more immersed in the game because it would be closer to continuity.

Ignorance. You want facts from the movies? Here you go:
Anakin fell and became dark, yet he still used his BLUE saber until he lost it.
Even Peill, Jedi Master, is in ALL THREE pre-quels, and his saber is RED.
Depa Billaba, Jedi Master, is in ALL THREE pre-quels, and her saber is RED.
Adi Gallia, Jedi Master, is in ALL THREE pre-quels, and her saber is RED.
Now shut up, ya jack@ss.

A few points:
1.Bad Jediin the movies were Sith, not Dark Jedi.
2. Anakin was still Anakin for quite some time as he faded from the light side. When he took up the Darth Vader name, then he changed lightsabercolors.
3. In the movies/books, red colorwas the effect of the special Sith lightsaber crystal work that made the sabers differently than the Jedi.
These three points in mind, lets turn back to the game.
Does the game follow the movies/books? Almost completely not.
Are there playable SITH in the game? Nope.
Is there a difference between Dark Jediand Sith? Yep.
Does this idea have merit? Yes, if changed slightly.
A possible alternative to the first poster's idea:
Blue crystals and blue lightsabers:Light Jedionly.
Red crystals and red lightsabers: Dark Jedi only.
Other crystals and other colored lightsabers: Any jedi.
This allows the color considered good (blue) and the color considered evil (red) to stay withthe 'correct' type ofJedi but not force a Jedi to be stuck with only one color to choose from.
Just an idea, take it as you will.

Wanna bet Anikan doesn't get a red saber until he loses his standard issue Jedi one?

hold on.... Isn't mace windu the only guy who uses purple?!
We should restrict purple to Black jedi only!! It ruins gameplay and immersion to see all these jedi running around with purple lightsabers.
And Darth Maul is the only one who uses double bladed! e should restrict that to zabraks only! It ruins my immersion!!!!111one
/sarcasm off
Red saber doesn't mean evil jedi. So sad but it doesn't. And how does it ruin your immersion? You wouldn't even know they were a dark jedi, unless they had titles up or the knight robes on. You know what else? Color is chosen by the jedi, not some mystical influence from the specific sides of the force.

Well, I have to say that I only partially agree.
Let's break down the Trained Force Users into 3 groups.
Jedi, Dark Jedi and Sith.
Jedi are servants of the Light Side of the Force. They use the colors blue, green, purple (and th EU also yellow) The reasoning behind the usage of those colors is the fact that they are passive colors. They don't provoke emotion/passion, so that they stay at peace and are in danger of falling to the Dark Side as little as possible.
- Jedi should be restricted to: Blue, Green, Purple, Yellow.
Dark Jedi are Jedi who have fallen to the Dark Side of the Force. Because they were once Jedi, I don't see any reason why they have to force them to switch saberwhen they already have one. They mainly just continue using their old one. But may off course choose to use new saber colors, but Forcing them to doesn't make any sense to me.
- Dark Jedi should be restricted to: All colors.
The Sith however are the imbodiment of the Dark Side. They want power more than anything and do anything to achieve it. Unlike Dark Jedi, who are more or lessrogue. The Sith have codes and pholisophies. Those state that a Sith strength comes from emotion and passion. Red is a color that provokes activity, emotion and passion (and also aggressiveness). The Sith (of today) always use red lightsabers. (as seen in the movies.)
The Sith should be restricted to: Red.

Sadly to say though this would not happen people would get into too much of a hissy fit about what colors Billy can use and what colors Bob can use.

Althouhg I'm not fan of red, there is no basis for this. Why would such a change be desired? I think we have bigger fish to fry, lets not spend our time on this sort of silliness.

I've watched all 5 movies, several times, and never once does anyone say those who have fallen to the dark saide can only have red LS. Yes, Vader, the only DS oriented Jedi we sell, unless you incude Dou Ku (sp?), does have a red saber, but so what?
