I think slicing sabers went away with the change to make them containers.

Long ago you could slice lightsabers, but you werent supposed to be able to. You also could trade em, but thats gone too.

ya u could but eventually i believe the csrs deleted/modified them with the fix/change

Back in the day of kinetic sabers you could slice them by trading your saber using a droid. They fixed that exploit a few months before publish 9. If a csr caught you with a sliced saber, it was grounds for an immediate ban.Of course,back then there was really no need to slice a saber sincedecent sabers were at least 1500 in damage. The lightsaber was the most powerful weapon in the game, as it should be. I think this is the only Star Wars game in history where lightsabers suck.

And one of the above posters is correct. Saber slicing was fixed prior to 9. And since 9 forced all sabers to be disassembled and made anew, there is no possible way to slice them now or have one carried over from then.

i already tried it..can't be done...i grinded up smuggler when i was a noob jedi and tried to see if i could slice my saber..well..was a waste of time..doens't even give you the option to slice..

syndrome.

I remember the whole sliced LS scenario well, it was fixed by SOE more or less delaring them as an exploit, ppl tried to circumvent the system,that was put in place toprevent trading them to smugglers, by putting em in droids and bags etc...lots ofJedi (a few old friends too )got accounts shut down for it. So in short...no its not possible and even if it were, you would have a "your account is shut", quicker than you can say "nerf force cloak!!", winging its way to your account subscription page.

i like the idea of slicing sabers...but not smugglers doing it....should be a mls player. saber slicing would be a great master level skill. much better than the wasted dervish skill.

BTW, you cannot ever slice sabers because the only place other than your toon that u can put a saber is in your safety deposit box. cannot trade sabers at all to anyone.

True that! I unlocked back in October 2003, and I totaly understand where you are coming from. But i still think if they added the OLD Jedi system into the CU. It would fit perfectly.

Thefunniest part with the pre Pub 9 slicing was that you could do a new slice after each Sabreupgrade meaning slice, upon slice, upon slice......

Resulting in a huge unbalanced damagedealer delivering blows we will never see again


The problem back then was that it didnt matter course you would still be owned by a kiting Novice Rifleman from the opposite faction that just happen to run into you in the middle of nowhere (TEF). The third time were killed (even if you had the best possibleComposite Armor)you lost your 20M+ Sabre (alot at that time) , all your belongings and had to start grinding again
