Thread: Simple Fix is get rid of Jedi vs. Bounty Hunter

It wouldn't be a bad idea if it only took a few days to master Jedi...just like any other profession.
i can agree with you on that. but one thing is for sure, it would be more for roleplay than pvp, because as an elite, it would be equal to any other elite, plus or minus nerfs, like commando supposedly being equal to rifleman, which it's not.

The bottom line is, this is a game. I used to get all worked up like you guys, but you need to face it, that Jedi will never be what it once was. It cannot be. There are too many. Players whined the devs into making it easy to get.
Once you learn to accept that your whole gameplay and satisfaction shouldn't depend on Jedi, you will enjoy the game more. You have 2 characters to play. Heck, I have 5 characters to play on the same server.
I am a pre-patch 9 Jedi. I have lived through the old and new breed of Jedi. I went so far as to cancel my accounts because of the Jedi nerfing after patch 19. The day I accepted it has to be this way, it is for the good of the whole, not just Jedi, my enjoyment for the game returned.
There will always be constant nerfs and balances. You need to keep up with them and adjust accordingly. This is a dynamic game where one class will not always be the alpha class. Especially since it is one of the more populated classes. It causes imbalance.
Im not sure where you get saying its easier to get a jedi now than it was before. There is allot more grinding required now to make Jedi than there ever was. It may take less time to grind a full template but the village is a much longer grind than the hologrinding was, even if you had to do all 32 professions.

Just my opinion of course, my jedi is going to stay home until this issue is resolved.Whether this is SOE's plan or not to limit the Jedi seen around the galaxies, I just don't see the fun anymore in having to put up with my game play with friends being interupted cause of a BH. I have fought every BH that has come for me, but at least I could fight back. Now I have no intentions of playing a game were I can be attacked and not be able to attack back. Sure I can change my template so I can survive and continue killing BH but why should I have to change my game style to suit someone else, and no I'm not going to just let someone kill me to get it over with. Fortunatly I have other toons to play till this issue is resolved. I could put up with the jedi nerfs if I wasn't forced to fight other players.

It wasn't so tough for me. I have 1 Knight and 2 Padawans I ground out the village for. Hologrinding wasn't popular, and some people would flat out refuse to grind certain professions. This helped to keep Jedi rare. It may not have been as cool as the Village, but it served the purpose of keeping Jedi limited.
Then the Village came about, and people could get 6 trees done in a week with combat XP from Commando, once you got your unlocks.
And with spin groups, a Jedi could get a few million a day easily.

hey bp, surprised to find you trolling the jedi forums, heck, surprised i came over here myself. i think its funny ppl will turn rabid on a player thats been here since day 1, knows what 4444 guardian means, attended both fanfests... as if they dont care about the profession or game. damn you bp *shakes fist*![]()
lol yeah. just because i don't have jedi knight and 2 jedi padawans in my sig, people assume i don't know what it is to be a jedi.
youre kidding right?

Just look at all the other forums...other than bugs people would like fixed theres no hating going on...SOE has created a major problem with forced PVP.
simple solution, equate Jedi with the same level of power as say a fencer, make it an elite profession with no questing, and then remove forced pvp and xp loss. but somehow i don't think Jedi would be ok with that.
I certainly wouldnt Allot of my time in this game over the last two years has been given to Unlocking a Jedi. I didnt expect that to meanI had the I win button in any fight but I did expect tha the time I put in was going to give me some payback.

ok, then as a jedi, you have to deal with BHs. it's pretty simple. jedi can be like every other profession, or it can be unique, with unique risk and rewards content.
i also ground out my jedi like you. you have to understand that since there is a flood of jedi, their power must be reduced accordingly. this isn't the old days anymore.
First, I agree. the BH vs Jedi is no longer needed give the evolution of the game.
It server no purpose other then to generate animosity between players which is bad for the game.
Other thoughts on responses.
Timeline. well soe never followed the timeline and jedi were never reb or imp they were alway light or Sith or dark jedi.
So we really have a game that has elements of all starwars cannon from all time lines and Jedi believe it or not is part of the starwars.
Remove jedi: You do realize you are playing starwars, you expected not to see jedi?
BH: BH never hunted jedi not sure why soe put it in it was just going to cause animosity and has.
Would have been better if they had just kept the perma-death and removed BH vs jedi since that is all the game consists of now.
The new pub will not dimish the number of jedi you see since the ones you see are the pvp types and will be out and about reguardless. This pub just hurts the non pvp jedi. The quite ones you never see unless you're looking for them.
The real solution is to Remove the BH vs jedi system.
Remove jedi from pvp. If this is the reason most have jedi then they have it for the wrong reason.
Create a sub pvp system for light and dark jedi. Dev's have said jedi is a different system so that should be hard.
For the sub system, non jedi can enter it if they choose to by running through a special FS quest. Then they can become FS allies to light or dark jedi.
This give the GCW back to the non-jedi and give jedi a pvp system that seperates them from non-jedi and will allow devs to give us back our skills as they should be and not as they are.
