Thread: Now they want to TAKE our saber!
Oh hell now....I don't even have to read the responses in this thread. I just know that I did not spend a year getting my saber (as mediocre as it is) to only lose it to a BH because I accidently got vis. I'm sorry even with the ideas to separate jedi from the population so they don't get vis, you have to remember that there are other content where the jedi MUST get vis. Quest, POI's, Dungeons and times when you come across a nightsister while traversing dath. I mean I see it all the time where players (and other BH's) will intentionally give you vis when they see your saber out. This week alone I've had it happen over 10 times (4 times in 1 hour friday). Even after a /tell asking them to move back so I can finish my lair, they disregard it and move closer or just stay their.
You can't totally control how much vis you get other than logging off your jedi and playing your alt.....again, not an option. I pay to play my alt and my jedi when I feel like it. That's part of my enjoyment......I am not a trophy supplier for BH's.
Well, aside from the stupidity of looting our weapons....I think that the fundamental problem here is the weapons themselves. I have always hated this aspect of games. Unless you have the best this or that, you cannot be a true master. This is silly. I am more for all weapons being equal, with slight bonuses based on upgrades, crafting, pearls, etc. When I say slight bonuses, I am talking about the 10% range. For example, what if all Gen 4 sabers were 600-1000 dmg. Add a color crystal, you get +200 elemntal dmg. Add 5 pearls ranging from 1-100% efficiency/quality for a max total of 10% additional min/max dmg. The best saber you could possibly have would be 660-1100 with 200 elemental dmg. The worst could be with lousy crafting -10% at worst, and no crystals (except a color one)...you'd have a 540-900 dmg +200 elemental dmg saber at the worst.
540-900 vs 660-1100 That's not a bad range, and most of that is based on the actual crafting of the saber. Craft a good saber and you are already in the middle of that split. This would take the huge difference in weapon dmg out of the picture and force players to develop better skill. It would also mean the end of worrying so much about pearls and crystals and ADK-ing a saber.
This wouldn't stop jedi from dueling in starports anways. I would just make somecrappy saber with crappy crystals in it and fight with it and I'm sure thousands of others would do the same. So basically all you would be doing is taking away the ability of us to use our best sabers which is kind of pointless since this isn't the intentional purpose of this "fix". I would say that a starport TEF is a good idea, only problem is, that doesn't fix it either since there is no longer any death penalty in terms of xp or loss of jedi account (i.e. permadeath). I for one would love to get a saber tef and let peeps come after me, it would be fun. The only true way to eliminate jedi from sight is to bring back major xp penalties (even skill penalities where a jedi could lose a skill box). Then jedi wouldn't duel in open and it would bring back the excitement that has been lost when someone attacks. I for one miss the feeling of a bh hunting me where if he suceeds, I lose hours of grinding time with xp loss. I know some peeps don't like that, but I for one enjoyed it. It made the game worth playing and exciting. At some point, all jedi will understand what I mean when they plain just run out of things to do. PvP doesn't bring the same thrill. Just ask yourself how you feel when you are being attacked from aBH. I loved it but I also understand that others don't. Its a tough position to be in which is why I do have sympathy for the devs and the correspondents in the game. It's just impossible to make everyone happy, and they will eventually have to just make a decision and deal with the flames that follow.

Now that is a good idea!

I couldn't resist posting either but... I think a probable/playable solution would be to make it so if the jedi died, The BH received a LS replica (liek the old lootable "broken Lighsaber") that was the same hilt style as the jedi was wielding when the jedi was DB'd. Make the relpica saysomething to the effect of "XXXX(jedi) was slain by YYYYY(BH) on such and such a day." This gives the BH a trophy/proof that they actually killed jedi AND, Most IMPORTANTLY, I KEEP MY SABER IN TACT.

Very cool

when a jedi dies the person should get his credits/stuff/account/credit card/real life house and his family for slaves
