Along the lines of not promising the path wouldn't change... They explicitly said the path may change, and that they would not feel obligated to share the new path.
Look at the bright side -- you know your path now, rather than the elation/frustration of hologrind-and-hope. If you focus on enjoying your time in-game, the xp flies in almost unnoticed. At least, that's what I noted once I mastered a prof I really liked (Fencer).

Some people did 22 profs with 1 free branch, some 15 with 5 free branches you can NOT run a mmorg based on luck like this its cruel.

i know i felt shafted the hole time i was grinding i was under the impession " oh my god, i am only one prof away" and 29 professions later and pub 10 i find out there were not only one but 4 silent holo's the devs so screwed us royal
i feel like punching a whole in the wall whenever i see a jedi who only did 5 professions because there was no way in hell that the devs were going to let us do that, its just not fare, flame all you want, but i felt like canceling when they revealed the info of the 8 holo's instead of 5

I grinded all my holos, and kept blind grinding till i gave up on profession #24, and i gave up cos i ran out of enjoyment. Now afer being promissed a quest based system i found i have to keep grinding like a fool just to unlock.
I feel treachered.
