Generally not a big basher of the devs, but I agree with you on this one. They really should have nixed this before it ever went live. No idea why they had any faith that players would actually not camp this stuff.

These items were no trade in beta ! Then the big whine in the forum started and they changed it by request of the players.

You now have what youasked for!

I asked for it? Really? I don't remember doing that. While I think most stuff should be tradable, but biolinked, I never requested it. But, they should make the stuff non campable.

Agreed, but the point remains. People were screaming about items not being tradeable. Many on the Beta forums urged the devs to keep them non-tradeable to avoid camps. The screaming continued...

And here we are.

Perhaps not you personally. But the whining is the reason why this stuff is not "non-trade"

If the devs would implement everything which is asked for (especially on the jedi forum) the game would become unplayable.

I just think the quest bosses need to drop NO TRADE items

I managed to get the robe of kursk, but I wasnt camping it. Just came at the right time. If these items were no trade then it would be much better. Now people will just camp so they can sell it. But good thing is you cant afk camp it. Too many spawns there of a high level.

better solution: you cant attack them unless you have the quest(like BH missions)

i would also like to see that your group are the only ones who can attack it (like the bh missions but your group can help and get credit and depending on how many you have in your group is how many times he spawns for your group)

i hoped they would put those bosses into dungeons like myydril caverns. it is a shame they stand at open ground, exposed to passing by players

/bump

These guys need to be white con to everyone but the quest holder and his group. But maybe that wouldnt work...hmmm. If your grouped with 8 peeps and all get the quest only one dude gettin the ubah loot. Hmm maybe just wait a few weeks til it dies down. NK and the such were mad canped when the expansion came out. Give it a bit to die down then go loot ya robes.

BTW they rock hehe.

I agree I was on beta and I never once even had a problem with it being non-tradable. Heck I was perficly fine with it. This just goes to show the kind of people that are out there. Not letting outhers get the quest item's that they need or get any rare loot drops. If anything i think it should be non-tradeable again. And IF you did want it then you would have to sink down to there lev or just find a group strong enough to out power 6-5 outher groups out there. Even that is just as bad. *Sigh* and i am not willing to do eather one OR buy any of the robe's off of anyone on the trade forms. I only have to say one more thing....Baciacca, Tiggs plz read this and do something. This is 100% unfair to outhers that are needing the quest item's and wanting loot just for them selves in the game

My take on this:

1) SOE needs to listen to the beta testers. I've decided that their beta testing is just to try to create a buzz about their expansion, rather than to actually improve anything.

- We identified all the issues with Pub. 24 that have been raised ever since...and were ignored...

- We identified the issues with camping in TooW...and were ignored...

(need I say more?)

2) The immersive environment...what is left of it...is ruined by campers

- The POIs have been repeatedly nerfed to the point many are meaningless now due to this

- Camping spawns cannot ever be considered "working as intended"

- The most reasonable method of looting was the old Auk. missions

3) Every effort should be made to end camping. A few options:

- Eliminate the dropping of loot from recursive spawn points...random spawns/missions should drop loot

- Establish TEFs on Boss spawns for those on the specific mission or instance them

- Give the loot directly to the player with the mission once the boss dies..."mission accomplished, here is your reward"...just like some of the other missions.

4) Last thoughts...with all due respect to Jerry Springer

- It took us, as players, about an hour to find the spawns and begin camping them in the beta. The developers have got to be smarter than this. TooW has some great elements, but the overall plan was poorly executed.

- Important drops like robes cannot come from wild spawns...it only encourages camping. The developers must draw a clear line between the 'uber loot' and the normal loot then establish specific rules for where those things drop. I will again recommend mission terminals/TEF'd bosses/instanced events.

- I do not anticipate any feedback from the Devs...we are almost never given any, so this whole post is a complete waste...and I acknowledge this. I am still hoping against hope that they get their act together, but that seems less and less likely as time goes on. Pub 24 cooked the goose...TooW was merely the gravy.

Doesn't matter what profession the campers are. What matters is that the devs were gullible enough to believe that their non-instanced NPCs would not be camped the second the expansion went live.

Either make the quest NPCs target-able only by the person(s) holding the quest or make the loot item a quest reward and NOT a looted item.
