you can use it aslong as you don't have a speed buff at the same time.
dear god pay attention.......saber speed not force speed, where have you been?

Actually, I did some tests less than a week ago, and modded saber speed seems to work just fine.

a start yes. but exactly which speed problem is he acknowledging? the bug where you have to remove and replace pearls? the cool down timer bug? or the one everyone want's fixed, which is the saber actually atacking at your properly moded speed?
then your testing was wrong, actually. that or you are the only jedi in swg with accurate speed. i am guessing the first is true.
You can read about the tests yourself. I've posted themhere . The conclusion was that my swing time was around 3 seconds with17 in LS speed and around 2.1 seconds with 87 in LS speed, using the same special attacks in both cases. This tells me modded speed works. Please provide some of your own tests if you say something else.

you are swinging at the exact same speed as your sabers base spd...with only like novice sabers you will swing at that no materr what you do. your tests are not reflective of every jedi that has a modded saber spd of around 1. i not need to test to know that i do not ever swing at my modded spd of 1.02. you can continue to be the only one that has their speed fixed.....your 3.0 spd is horrendous and therefore no one would ever know the wiser.

Look here... you are NOT supposed to be able to swing at your modded speed when you are using a SPECIAL attack.
All attacks have 1 primary cool down, for the attack itself. And 1 secondary cool downthat is for allother attacks. All attacks also have a time DELAY FACTOR. For saber hit this is close to 1 and you swing close to your modded speed. For advanced attacks such as headhit, this is higher, maybe around 1.5, if you look at tests done for other professions. Note that my own tests agree with this, as it predicts a delay factor of 2.13/1.49 = 1.43.
Nevertheless, there are many who still doesn't believe it works, so I will try to make some more tests tonight.
rofl I remember that CSR one... oh man that was great.

I suggest you read this other post http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=jedi&message.id=1125248&view=by_date_ascending&page=1
We can agree that our saber information is bogus and master sabers 132 LS speed (incl FS general spd), is useless given that fact:
Normal Saber is Gen4 double blade 3.2 no pearl mods
Attack SpeedL 2.33
Your modified Speed 1.37
Damage 583-679
Elemental Type Heat
Elemental Damage: (SRD)203
Acc bonus - 0
EBDPS 358.18/sec
Your modified DPS 608.56
Average speeds:
2-H DB
Base speed:2.28 2.28
Modded sp. 1.49 1.92
3 cycled att. 2.13 3
2 cycled att. 2.6 3
We can be sure to agree modified DPS is an error for you or MLS since we both agree that we will never hit at modified speed.
Doing lvl 50 factionmissions, I turned on fr3 to limit damage and killed the flag while using the in-game time stamp.
Before testing from my home city I changed pearls and crystals out. I macroed the hits till the combat showed alternating each type. The base saber hit does'nt have the bug so you can attain a smidgen more over base by alternating saber hit with an advanced attack.
1) Spamming saber hit alone calcualted to base attack speed with no pearls speed mod, thats 3.2 hits/ second
2) Alternating Head hit body hit the attack speed was the pearl modified base Attack speed of 2.3 hits/ second
How about reducing the timer on force heal and remove the gamebreaking mind cost for healing and infusion. fix pearls or give us the ability to craft lightsabers as good as pre cu jedi
until then the profession will be as good as master brawler lol
