Creature Handlers, they were gods in the beginning of the game, then over a period of a month or two they got nerfed into the ground and became one of the weekest classes in the game for abouta year or so.

Read up in my post, I linked to a report from 07/21/2003 where people were talking about the probots being nerfed. That's much sooner than the CH nerfs later in the year, before the eye shot nerf, and before the underhand shot. I don't think many people were calling for that nerf, for that it's a tie really between eye shot, underhand shot and CHs.

Not to digress, but I'll never understand why they nerfed probots... nobody was calling nerf, why do that?
Seriously, if MDE got some love and we had more and better droids, the game would be much more StarWarsy
They had 3000 health, did 120 damage or so. At the time, they were pets that enabled players to do things much faster and with less risk than intended. The probots got changed to about 800 health, 50 damage. Pretty much the same thing for the creatures later.

Removing mindhealing from stimpacks was done in beta...
How do you really think that would have been such a good idea?

Actually the first nerf call profession wise is this.
The original bounty hunter knockdown underhand shot, and the followup move fire knockdown. These two moves allowed a couple BHs to effectively pin a target to the ground forever. You could use a cdef sliced for no action cost and go to town just pinning down 10 to 20 people who were helpless to fight back.
The resulting nerf destroyed the BH carbine line makeing it all but useless since they just dropped it to a five percent stick chance on both. Result it scared many from doing MBH especially because the only decent shot left at master was spray shot and it took forever to get MBH.
These were nerfed at the end of june of launch year.

Yup. That was definitely up there as one of the firsts. Everyone had a Probot in August of 2003.

Crafters were nerfed the most right off, there used to be a 25% xp bonus for practice mode, that got reduced to 5% in July 2003, shortly thereafter the xp from factory runs went away too.
But to find the very first nerf, Berserk used to do double damage, so melee got the first nerf of them all (august 12, 2003)
Then rifles got nailed, so rifleman was the first ranged nerf.
Although I remember the berserk nerf first hand, my source is here:

it's fun to look at how much the game has changed. But I mostly get a kick out of the first 6 months...
Biggest nerf I felt, other than the crafting nerf, was the fencer bleed nerf. I think we got that shortly after our holiday holocron bonanza...
