Deflect shots back at the shooter? lol, why don't you just ask for a "I Win" button altogether against Ranged professions?

SWG is not the movies. 80% of all continuity has been tossed to increase the fun factor. You can't justify becoming a more powerful profession by making movie/book comparisons lol.

Why doesn't someone just admit you want an "I WIN" button vs. everything.

I was looking all over the place on my keyboard and I can not find my "I WIN" button. Do I have to bind a key to it?

/adds fuel to fire.

The rationale behind the OP suggestion, is that bolts, should be able to be deflected back because it happened in the films.

By that same rationale, weapons that are not of the same type. ie a single bolt. should not be able to beblocked as it happened in the films.

Didnt see many Jedi deflect back sonic blasts in Episode 2.

Ok, I'm all for sabber deflect in addition to saber block.. However, in case the implement it, they should remember thatnot all the weapons can be blocked:

-Geonosian Sonic Blaster:it is a sonic pulse, not a blaster bolt. Anakin dodges geo blaster shots, but never blocks one

-Flamethrowers:Can't block a flame

-Scatter: you should be able to block only some of the bolts it fires, it fries 7 or 8 bolts at the same time

-Grenades: obvious, however they can't be blocked now (the only unblockable ranged weapon)

-Rockets: obvious.. you can hit it, but then it explodes..

-Scatter number 2:Scatter pistol is acid.. how can you deflect back some acid? maybe you can "evaporate" (not sure if it's a real english word though :/ I mean "burn" some of the bolts though. Same applies to DXR-6 rifle, pistoleer acid pistol, carbineer acid carbine and Heavy Acid Rifle.

Opinions?

There should be built in a chance to reflect the shot back at the shooter.

The amount reflected back at the gunner shouldincrease with lightsaber skill all the way up to master.

This is what happens in the movies...so why not?

I have to agree with the logic of that post, I wouldnt mind jedi bouncing blaster bolts back as in the films if the whole Block&bounce only works on blaster bolts, anything non-blaster should slide straight past,
I would also include the Light lightning cannon into the list its in effect a directed lightning strike and as such would just flow straight threw you, and please no jedi can block electricity, Master yoda pulled his force trick and caught the Counts force lightning but thats yoda you aint yoda your not even luke and he got his ass handed to him

I agree, but what about those weapons that should be unblockable yet you can block now?

lightsaber reflect should be a master defender ability.

Actually this is a pretty good idea. Especially if it was a skill that increased as you climbed the Defender tree with its biggest bonus at master.

QFE.

On the Scatter Pistol thought: Jedi would only need to block a couple of "pellets" (for lack of a better word). The others could possibly miss anyway. It's not called a Scatter pistol for nothing.

On the other side, not all of them would necessarily miss. You could divide weapon damage by number of "pellets" and calculate how many hit, how many get blocked, and how many justmiss. Then do damage to the jedi on a per "pellet: basis.
