It sucks when jedi gets nerfed, I agree with you all. However I have been a jedi for a really really long time, and we all knew that once they started to make jedi easier (ie village) that it would continue down the road of getting easier to satisfy the fan base.

In a game like this, you can not have an over powered class that is so easy to get. When jedi was rare, @10-20 known jedi per server you could be really powerful. But now that over 1/2 the server population has one they have to nerf them or else all other professions are pointless.

In conculusion, be happy you have a jedi, the people screamed, they dummied down swg, and now you have one. Don't expect to be unbeatable. The days of jedi being something special are long gone. Enjoy it, and know, that this is not the last nerf, more and more jedi unlock every day, meaning more and more nerfs. It has to happen, soe made that decision when they made it easier. This is not the last nerf, and their will be more.

Sucks but its true. Just enjoy your character, and if its to upsetting to enjoy, play your alt

No...it is still wrong untill they fix the RISK vs REWARD:
As it stands now, here are the risks, or penalties, for being jedi:
1) Hunted by BH
2) Loss of xp if BH deathblows
3) 10x+ Higher xp requirements
4) 6x LESS xp per kill
5) Visibility for engaging in game content

Here are the rewards:
1) As stated by devs: "you get to play a Jedi"

Hardly seems like balance to me. If they want to make Jedi a "normal" class, then they should have ALL risks I listed above removed.

I can kind of understand that. but since jedi has been getting nerfed the risk has gone down a lot as well (no perma death, no cloning costs, no saber tef, no 20 man gank squads etc. . .). so i'm sure the more it gets nerfed the risk will continue to drop.

I have been a Jedi for 10 months and have never PvP'd except for 2 BHs coming for me. Not all players want Jedi for PvP some of us wnat to play a Jedi just for the fact of being a Jedi. I hate PvP and will run from any BH that comes. I play the game to have fun not be someone eles's content. And before you say you knew that you were going to be hunted if you became a Jedi, yes but I also know that I can run and do not have to fight it is my choice. I think any game that forces PvP is doomed to fail especially if it is the iconoclastic profession that most (not all) associate with the genre. Not every person at the keyboard of a Jedi character wants to be uber and kill others. Oh and to the original posterthe only reason the village seemed easier is that most people have been playing the game awhile when it came out and the way to Jedi was totally laid out. Really grinding 32 professions takes less time than the village the difference was that people did not know that is what you had to do to become a Jedi. Given enough time under that system we would have just as many Jedi in the game. People want to play Jedi thats all there is too it.

I can understand your not wanting to, but just for our information, did you not know jedi has always been an "elite pvp class"? ok maybe not so much elite anymore lol, but thats besides the point hehe.

my bad on the spelling, but point is, no one actually knew direct specifics. yeah, holos, and the last is silent. there needs to be some sort of guessing system again implemented. maybe not holo system, but something where...ahh..basically where theres no walk thru. thats one thing killin the game. people arent stupid. so with static quests, you can easily have a walkthru.

Nonsense, most of us don't PvP, so how we are versus NPC's, mobs, quests, and group adventuring is no other player's business in a MMORPG. There is no reason to nerf anything beyond 3 steps back, unless you're referring to a minority activity; PvP. At best, they're nerfing should be directly and specifically applicable to only versus-Player activity.

most of the jedi population dont pvp?!?!?!?

Maybe he meant "most Jedi didn't PvP before they got Jedi because they need God mode to compete".

You make a very good point MasterJedi2003

I am reminded of an old post I saw on here once... were someone suggested having the devs add in other elite professions... (That are just has long and hard to get as Jedi was in the 1st days of SWG) and only allow one per account.... it suggested other professions like a Mandoloran Warrior, Night Sister Elder, Force Mystice, Royal Imperial Guard... ect, ect... and add in Light and Dark Jedi as one of these choices as well...

Perhaps if we had more to choose from there would not be so many Jedi running around.... Heck I may even trade in my Jedi for a chance to play a Mandoloran Warrior.... Anyway I thought it was a great idea when I read it.... it's a sad shame that the devs of this game never listen to any of our good ideas....

I like my alt, I have a lot of fun with her. And to be honest, I have been playing her much more often lately; I've hardly logged my jedi on at all the past few weeks.

Why is that ok again? My jedi is the main toon I've had for two years. I never did the hologrind, but I mastered9 profs just having fun with her. She's the one I've rp'd with, became an elder in my guild with, made all my friends with. Etc.

Why is it okay to put her away because SOE can't figure out what they want to do with the prof? I've been jedi since last December, I think it's sad that my choices are now 1) drop all jedi skills 2) resign myself to not enjoying the profession 3) play the alt.

I would feel differently if SOE had a clear path/plan that they were able to lay out for us, a vision for how they see jedi. I just don't get the feeling that they even have one. And after two years of nerfs, getting jerked around, and the change-OOPS!-change policy that SOE seems to live by... I just want my fun toon back.

If they are going to keep nerfing us the least they can do is give us lightsabers that compair with other elite weapons. Hell a lump of iron on a wood rod is out damaging a lightsaber. And remove forced PvP cause that was to police the Jedi when they were more powerful than regular professions.

I'm suprised how many people agree with me lol, thought i'd get flammed lol. to whomever said the village made jedi harder, you obviously weren't around before that

oh and thanks for the fix etra

and to the person who did the math on 50% this character that alt etc.. . . i'll change it to 50% per actualy PLAYER, including all of the accounts they posses as one player

no that is because jedi was an "elite pvp class". so everyone who doesn't want pvp as jedi should have known it was pvp before they got it

in order to severly slow the rate of jedi unocks, the village xp req needs to be much higher or xp per high cl kill needs to be cut to about 4.5k.

most would whine at the xp cut. but the requirements of the village needs to be changed to be much more restricting. If the xp requirements were crazy high, from a phychological view, most will not want to grind all that if they knew how much. theyd play and collect xp, but not a straight grind because it would be too much. Possible, but too much.

In addition, a form of negative xp could be gotten from npc and player deaths that would directly effect your fs stats. you would see a change in your FS progression bar in the negatives.

Jedi padawans, well the spin move should be either axed, and just aoe at dervish (master box) or at the 4 box. The four box alone would seriously slow jedi progression. and at the master box, heh, that would slow it to a crawl...

this was a message i posted on another thread...

The golden age is truly, truly over. After overhearing a conversation between someone, a guy whose a complete newbie started actively in late july, and is now a cl 80, max on healing, unarmed and some other stuff waiting for sith and crystal already glowy (glowy at cl 20) and ready for the fs grind.

No one cares about the game to experience. it really is a mad dash to jedi. if SOE wants players to say, they need to market the GCW. if not, people will get jedi, get bored and bounce to another game.

theres no mystery or excitement of jedi anymore. I remember hearing the hum of a saber and going crazy running to go see it. and no, im not mad at the newbies, more like SOE. All vets who play for over a year should be rewarded, and not with some holo either. something really worth having...just look at all the holos on sale in shops.

Yeah, the newbies this great. so much to do and see. but its their right to go straight jedi.

The newbie tells used to annoy the heck out of me with the how do i become a jedi tells, but now. its a whole new game. its not the same. it never will be.

However like most oldies, my days are numbered too. There are alot of new online rpgs comming out and sony well...the truth is they are going to loose alot of their playerbase to this because of their history.

Back on the subject. After hearing just how fast you can go from zero to full temp now adays, post cu have it totally easy (yea, me too). Sony wants easy. They got it. But its really shocking at how its simplified, and how they pattern this game after their others. Im thinking, wheres the creativity? why be a clone of others?

I just hope that swg2 will NOT be by sony. no way no how. Also, if they do have another online rpg (by sony) im not going to buy it. no way. This has been a learning experience for us all. but it really shows us about the changes of the game...even when companies change hands...

Why am i posting this? im not sure, but i guess mainly all that talk about how easy it is never really REALLY hit me till i heard that story. Theres no challenge, no real difficulty and its just not the same anymore as far as us oldies go. All the nerfs, and bugs...so pathetic.

Ah well. come on Startrek online, D&D online (no pvp planned), maybe CoH......heck, maybe even wow...those that left for WoW, mabye they werent crazy after all...

would be nice to see the old holocron system back in place. i liked that...it actually taught some of these ppl how to play so when they hit jedi they appreciated the skills that they had. and since it was harder than all this village fs "get as many badges as u can loser!" stuff, not as many people were jedis so they were able to be a "true" elite class
