Thread: Take a deep breath, Devs respond to the buff/debuff issue (link to the thread in the Doc forum)
Now, I didn't say in my post that everything looks peachy and I'm so happy now. I was just suggesting that everyone chill for a bit. If it gets pushed live as it is now then we all need to make some major noise (aka XP Nerf thread). I mean you know it is bad when you have BH's saying "perma-snare" is dumb.

Makes me feel a bit better for now. Thanks to Marrow for getting to the bottom of this fast.
Anybody see a pattern here?Jedi dont cloak....Jedi dont AI....Jedi dont FR....Jedi just shut up, lie down and die....
This is the key issue.
Now that it has been confirmed that the normal debuff rules apply, but that movement speed buffs are entirely negated by snare - then we have two choices when attacked: fight or die. I guess that's what the DEVs want - we have no way of escaping now, not with a 2 minute snare.
Good luck to anyone without stasis - even 45 seconds is going to be barely enough to get to cloaking/escaping distance.

Everybody with FR1: useless skill now
Everybody with FR2, FR3: They nerfed your skill as it wasnt supposed to be used for offense. Well guess what? Its not supposed to be for escape either. So what is it for?....Could a Dev please explain what is it for now?
Simple. SOE counts it as the 15 mil Jedi XP Swoop. You know, to run from the starport to the bank? To run form one store to another to buy those 40million Premium Pearls? To run from That mad dancer with a CDef Rifle with a 67max dmg, but no root yet?
You know....another 15 mil master skill that is capable of being rendered useless by a CL7 player..
Chess anyone? Oh, wait, SOE just called Checkmate..![]()

Stay calm. Vote with your wallet. I've already cancelled my pre-order. Gonna wait for this whole mess to blow over. My ebay account is primed for an auction.
Well the TH post on the announcements just totally contradicts this info anyway :
For example, a movement buff could make your character move at x2 speed. If your character gets snared, rather than moving at x1 speed you will now be moving at x1/2 speed (as though you didn't have a movement buff on at all.) When the snare wears off you will return to x2 speed.
