Thread: New token respec when FRS comes back?

Oh, they understand! Here's is their problem:
1. People WANT to play jedi, as least the majority would like the option. SoE knows this and uses it in their advertisements. Has anyone noticed that jedi appear in approximately 40% of all scenes on the TV program? How about the new box having the largest picture showing a jedi with a saber activated? 'nuff said
2. A LOT of other professions do not like jedi-either from envy of our supposed superiority and their lack of devotion to a long, boring grind to get one for themselves or because they just hate the concept since it doesn't fit their idea of "canon". These people want jedi GONE.
How does SoE balance these two camps? Well, allow EVERYONE to get a jedi much more easily (very linear pathway at this point with non-random badges to get FS and non-random village quests, etc.). This way EVERYONE can feel like a jedi is a POSSIBLE future goal. THEN make jedi a long, boring grind, give it few useful skills, make it rely upon gathering very rare items that for the most part have a very low chance of randomly being "tuned" to something worthwhile. Give it XP loss and player griefing so that the jedi can't experience what little "content" is available in game. In short, make the profession the "red headed stepchild" (sorry to anyone that might be one! Just a saying). Make it a long, difficult process and make the "end game" of jedi meaningless or even undesirable.
For now, as a full temp waiting for the FRS, I find my template to be LESS useful for PvE. I can kill things every bit as fast with a MBH/MCH/medic toon on another server. I have NO downtime between kills and I don't have to worry about another player coming by to interrupt my current hunt/quest-usually done when there is NO POSSIBLE way to actually fight back.
Even without needing the XP/caring about the loss, I'm on my FIFTH attempt to do Secrets of the Syren part III . EVERY TIME I get in the house and am working on the blackscale CL 82 elites, I have three tanked and am taking them down but I am JUST at the edge of my abilities to stay alive...Oh, LOOK! A lovely blue dot stopping right in front of the house. The BH will wait until I am below half heatlh, enter the house and somehow manage to NEVER aggro a single NPC even though he is standing right next to three or more. A nice AoE will usually bring EVERY NPC in the house, but miraculously they ALL attack me. Incapped by the NPC, deathblowed by the PC. Oh, wonderful! I get to do the darned mind-numbingly boring tier 3 escort mission YET AGAIN!
SoE KNOWS that they are making jedi quit (unfortunately I think that a large number of these are being Ebay'ed), they WANT jedi to quit. It helps them to meet these two opposing pressures without having to make any difficult decisions. They'll just work to replace you with a new player who will repeat the cycle.

I Wonder if they are just waiting for everyone to use their token respec. They said the wouldthe FRS would be disabled so people could respec.
People still have the token respec.
It seems most likley that they will somehow force everyone to use the respec token before they put the FRS back, by announcing that the token respec will not function after a certain date.

well tbh i have heard it to but i think it has started as a IF IF IF IF IF IF or perhaps some one who thought outside his brain!
the dude that is our speaker to the rest of the highcouncil did get this question on the last live event - if we will have another respec as the FRS is back online and i think he did brought the question to the rest of the "bunch" to discuss it!
But hey i can havemissed something or misunderstood the rest

lol wishful thinking I say. They did what we asked, gave a one shot deal to respec and warned us it would be the only one.
Those without patience shall suffer the consequences. If anything devs want to make you go out and grind more that way you won't play your Jedi. Thin the Jedi herd.
