Thread: Devs, SWG Art Department: That's how Jedi are supposed to look like!

A Mon Cal head pops all out of it unfortunately. From behind it looks like my character is a human and from the front it just looks really silly with my eyes popping out of the top/front of the hood.


So basically people can say the devs are lazy all they want but incorporating hooded robes for all isn't a simple 1-2-3 fix. Fitting apointyMon Cal head under a hood is a whole new cloak model.


Adding in a hooded cloak for tailors to sell that is only equippable by humans would bea simple addition that would please a lot of people however.

Maybe they need a new art department that is informed about Star Wars artwork. Or any art department, as I slowly begin to suspect there is no art department for SWG:AED at all, they have all been moved to EQ2 and a few of them to SWG:JTL a long time ago...

Isnt client side modifications of ANY kind a violation of the EULA or something like that? using third party programs to alter anything is usually not allowed in MMORPG's


but damn that hooded robe looks good...is it possible to get a black hooded cloak to for us Dark Jedis?

Of course, you can use cloaks of all colors. There are even black cloaks worn on this shot:



AFAIK, there also was no third party program used to modify or tamper with any files.

Hint: If you get a cloak that has the same color as the sleeves of the tunics, it looks even better

this is what they are suppose to look like.

I dont know where this guy got the hooded cloak but i remember back in beta days when they had a dev jedi running around and he had the hooded cloak too.

Yes, the hooded cloaks are in the game, the devs would only need to add a schematic for tailors to craft them. This could be achieved by simply copying the schematic for the regular cloak, change the copy's name to hooded cloak and the model to that of the hooded cloaks in the game. Would probably take only a few minutes if not seconds to implement.

This is pretty sweet.. and yes we should really be able to have those hooded cloaks. I really don't understand what the "art problem" they're having is when someone can hack it.. I mean come on. *sigh*


This is the look I use on my jedi personally.. (I do not wear the robe.) You don't need these robes. There are quite a few alternative outfits. You just have to play around with something till you find something you like.


Wrapped skirt, pullover, decorative belt, black hat, and form-fitting undershirt I believe w/ sandals. I also have the same set in white.

It's not.Jedi Chancellorand Dark Jedi Overlord do not have hooded cloaks either.


Besides, those hooded cloak models have been in the game from the beginning, they are even onthe original game CDs people bought more than a year ago. They just haven't been put into a schematic because somebody probably forgot about them. I wish they would justadd a tailor schematic for this hooded cloak to the gamealready. Tailors rarely get any new clothes to craft anyway.

Black hooded cloaks seem to look even better with the dark Jedi tunics, as the sleeve color is very similar.
