Thread: Getting killed by BH does not clear your mission!!!!!! Working as intended?!?!?!
People forget about the old system.
I think the nail has been hit on the head with this one though!!
The most probably cause for what happened to the Original Poster here is that he was on the terminals, a BH took his mission maybe kept it for a day or so, he has Respec'd to a new template, the terminals updated with his new bounty and another BH took his mission at this new bounty.
When one BH killed him it would have ended all the BH missions that took him at the level bounty, but the other level probably wasnt cleared, it wasnt the same mission after all?
Easiest way to find out is to ask the BH how much of a bounty they got for you. If they both reply with different answers then there is your answer. Will a fix be put in place for his bug? Not likely since the respec will be over soon.
I can state that I have seen 2 different missions for the same person on the terminals with different amounts of bounty (using my alt).
This would also produce the problem of ppl stating that they had '5 friends' take their mission, assume they are immune from BH only to find 2 more on their doorstep waiting for them.
Rule of thumb, while Respec is still live, be very mindful and take nothing for granted.
If you must group hunt, try and do it the sensible way with ranged support who know to stay 32m from you. Works nearly as fast once you get the swing of it.

Sorry, I'll never forget the old system. That's THE game we played almost 2 years. That's the game I could actually play Jedi with, not this farse that the the CU has made SWG now.
/concerned about bh swarms with this non clear vis
I feel your pain Mordoc, but that game is now gone I'm afraid. There is nothing we can do to bring it back, petitions have been lobbed etc, nothing is going to bring it back.
We can only mourn the death of SWG as we know it.
But in all deaths, we have to learn to get over it, maybe forgetting it was the wrong terminology. What I should have said was stop trying to work the new system like it was the old, its not the same and cannot be done.
We all have only 2 options to us now that I see:-
1. Learn to live with the changes, work with them and find a way to enjoy the game again.
2. Leave, because staying just makes it hurt all the more.
And I know alot will say, why should I leave, I pay my money, who are you to say to me to leave....well I'm not telling you to leave, I'm just stating that if you have honestly tried to play the game now and can see nothing good about it, hate it that much, then your only option would be to leave it, since there is nothing here for you now.
We can all hope they would role back the servers to pre-CU, but lets be realistic, its never going to happen now!!

Ok, now part 2 of the story. I submitted a second ticket on this matter, and received another response from a different CSR. He said that he "looked into it and found that after I died the first time, I did something that gained me just a very small amount of visibility. It was very little, but enough to putyou back on the terms, and that is why the second BH came."
Well, there are a couplereasons for this response to be blown apart:
1. Unless you get vis for getting on your swoop, flying 200m into town, and talking with guildmates...well then I did nothing to get vis.
2. I spoke with the BH that DB'd me the second time, and he had pulled my mission an hour before I died the first time. Which means he should have receiveda mission failed message when I died.
3. The BH came only 10 minutes after I died the first time, man that is one quick BH. He can pull a mission, get bio sig, launch a probe, travel, launch seeker, travel to player city, and kill mark all in a matter of minutes.
So, I have now submitted a 3rd ticket. We will see if there is a part 3 to the story, or if they actually take a look at what happened and realize that it was a bug.
i've seen the same PRE CU. I've also seen two seperate missions for the same Jedi at the same amount Pre CU. Therefore I suspect you can get multiple missions by increasing your vis.

Today I logged in to find an email from a friend saying he had taken a mission on me to improve my odds and it had failed, so that part of it is working. Now this /respec bug thing has me worried...

Had a friend get killed the same way, pre cu and got the same BS story. The only vis was your saber coming out, or you healing, when the second BH attacked you.
That was the case with my friend, CSR gave him back his second xp loss eventually, but told him the system was working as intended and this would be a one time restoration. Even though he got his xp back the CSR pissed him off so badit just ruined the game for him I think.Less than a month later hetoldus he was leaving after CU, andhe did ![]()
There are a few good CSR's, but there are FAR FAR more bad ones, and SOE in general dosent give a damn about it orservice in general.

I have to admit, I am a little suprised at how the CSR's have handled this. I have been playing for over 1.5 years, and have never submitted a ticket...I have read of some others experiences with tickets and CSR's, but never thought much of it. But now that I have seen it first hand, I am really surprised at their lack of customer service. It seems as if all they want to do is get the ticket closed and move on, who cares what the problem is. They are probably rated on how many tickets they close in a day, not how many people they actually help. Which just leads to poors customer service, unhappy customers, and eventually the fall of the company (in this case, the game).
To be fair guys, we blame the CSR's and may alot are to blame, but the end of the day a help desk is a help desk and I know for a fact that when call numbers increase dramatically the higher bods scream at middle management to get the call numbers back down.
The middle management scream at the managers and the managers tell their staff to get the calls closed ASAP. The problem then lies with whats a REAL problem and what isnt i.e. are some tickets being opened unnecessarily in the hope to fix a 'mistake' by the player?
The pushed release of the CU and RoTW will have caused a lot of real and unreal tickets to be opened. The pressure from above is to get the call levels down and the muppet at the end of the phone is piggy-in-the-middle. Probably as frustrated as us, but to just get the day over will give completely useless answers to your tickets, due to misread requests and pressure to get the call closed.
Its up to us to get the point of the ticket across in the first line of the ticket, thus saving them time. If you write war and peace as your ticket they will skim read it and answer with that they have managed to pick out, which wont be alot or complete rubbish.
We need to help them to help us...basically
