There are more than a couple books that include Lowie yes.... I myself play a Wook Jedi - and even to legitimize him I say he was trained by a Jedi Master who was left for dead on Kashyyyk after the Clone Wars.....order 66 or 22 or 15 or whatever that was...

in the old republic there was a wookiee jedi who constructed their saber out of wood, named tyvooka i think.
