Thread: Hmm. The spirit of Obi-Wan has his lightsaber attached to his belt.
I can't verify this but there are rumors that there is even a Battlestar Galactica MMORPG in the works based on the new series. How that will work...who knows? I am bettign it would get a little old shuttling between ships LOL

what better way to keep us paying a monthly fee, if they keep dangling the carrot in front of our face known as FRS
nah the FRS will return... it'll be the new HUGE feature when LOTR online launches as a last ditch to keep the masses from leaving for greener pastures.
Or when Star Trek Online comes to life...btw the devs of Star Trek online are taking a look at SWG and listening to the customer base. Seems they are on track to avoid the SWG grind garbage. Here is a little snipet of what the STO devs have to say...
"I'm hoping that we'll meet expectations for STO to be less time intensive. My view is that an aversion to the time investment is driven by two factors: compelling content (or lack thereof) and social pressures. Many people have warned us to avoid the 'grind' in the forums. I haven't played much of SWG, but I understand that the grind is especially ugly there. Providing lots of compelling missions and a variety of interesting activities is one way to address the grind. I certainly hope we can avoid the mistakes that others have made and I know we have a budget to build plenty of content. But no matter how compelling the content, I believe that the need to keep up with friends can be a big turn-off for some. No matter how fun the missions/quests are, trying to catch up with my buddies (who often have more free time than me) makes them less compelling. Star Trek certainly offers great opportunities to address this issue given the emphasis in the shows on mixing high and low ranks. It's a paradigm in which we intend to take full advantage." STO blog.
Seems up and coming MMORPGs are taking aim at SWG whish is good for the consumer. Who knows...maybe the SWG devs will finally wake up.
you know.... i haven't really given much consideration to STO... i have trouble... and its likely from plying THIS game for so long... wrapping my head around what could possibly be fun to do there, aside from eventually commanding your own starship... AND having a crew to command... I like the Star trek strategy games, like Armada. I just have trouble figuring out what would REALLY go on there.
But i may have to look deeper into that. I like the idea of space MMo's. Just seems it would be incredibly complicated to give real interaction between the classes and ranks and still be considered an MMO.. and not some FPS type where you team up for missions or objective and then its over.
Ok...so why would a spirit have/need a lightsaber on his belt.... ![]()

you know, i think the new BSG series is the best Sci-fi series since ST:TNG... bETTER even since EVERY episode is awesome.... I'm just not sure how that setting would play out in a MMO though. I'm with you in that traveling endlessly in space would get old fast.
and while i'm on the subject of BSG... DANG THOSE CLIFFHANGER SEASON FINALIES!!!!!!
Yes BSG is great but it appears the seasons areunusually short. The cliffhanger was pretty rough on the fan base. As for the mmo BSG...It will need the Gods of Kobol to work LOL.
