may be. but thats the ONLY proof we have of jedi being pvp profession. everything else is pure speculation regardless of how u look at it. if a dev says no. its no. if he says yes, its yes. outdated or not.

Jedi is nothing like that anymore, and about being a pvp profession there's no more perma-overt either.

If it requires too much pvp then it will be eitherpure gankage or fight clubbing.

Am I the only one who thought this whole concept of Jedi and all the peril it entailed was what made Jedi worth it?

Nope, when I bought the game I was excited about perma-death, blue glowies, and the works. I was willing to put up with that if it meant I would be one of the few Jedi on my server...

Screw pre-cu server, we need a pre-pub 9 server..

Actually there are three versions of that letter. This one is the perma-death one. Then there was the skill loss, and finally just exp. loss. The only thing constant in all versions and STILL applicable today is the "Jedi is PvP enabled character" portion. Of course, if you have your way that would not be applicable either .

Oh please. As if BHs are not getting "their way" and a bag of chips.

when that letter was sent out the power of jedi was awesome compared to what it is now...

Awsome indeed

I remember a statement by Q-3P0 saying a jedi master would need at least 20 ppl to take him down..

No one could get Master though

Well, I never got one.

--- Cancelled 24th November 2006
Reason: The lack of multiplayer pve content and Star Wars feel.
For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

Thank you. I was totally looking for this a week ago. Someone presented the "Skill Loss" version at that time. I love the drama of this letter. Where has all the "risk versus reward" gone? <Cry>.

It has been said before. The problem is that sooo many people are jedi now. It would be too unbalanced for an MMO. You simply cannot have that many indestructible players. I mean, look at it this way, if 8 jedi were in the middle of Theed, and it took say one full group of non jedi to take a single jedi down, then that would mean that a jedi gank squad would be indestructible.

It seems all well and good when you are a jedi. But it would suck for everyone else. So, to compensate the added volume of new jedi, they are going to bring jedi inline with other players, with only a slight advantage.
