I think if a MBH/MSL uses the buffs its ok. Its just like any other template. You sacrifice something to get something. Its like a BH healing. What I don't think is right is MBH with a SL toon following them around giving additional buffs once the fight has started. A doc can't heal a jedi or BH during the fight, why should a SL be able to give a bonus?
I feel bad for the Squad leaders. They finally get something good for their proffesion, and another proffesion (BH) immediately perverts it into something they can use to bend the system to their favor.
