I have no interest in rehashing the snare thing. I posted my feelings before where they belonged, but I had to reply to this. You must be the luckiest guy ever to tune a pearl if these honestly came after the CU. Most people I know with post-CU sabers don't even break 600 never mind go to almost 700.

I have 10-12 pearls all over 100+ damage. Dont bother with crystals, they tune to crap. Good pearls are your best chance. It's not luck, it's math. Just keep plugging away. I've tuned about 200 pearls/crystals since I unlocked.

are these all post-cu pearls? i very much doubt it.

The problem really comes with the fact that the "field" of BH's and Jedi are so diverse. Some may be good, some may be bad on both sides. Yet you need to balance a system for the good, not the bad.

I am a MLS/MDEF/2000 Enhancer/3000 Healer. I have a 745 damage saber and am maxed on skill tapes. I also have a lot of PVP experiance I wont say I am the best, but I am pretty good. Pre-Cu if a Bh came at me whowasn't very good, he simplydidn't last long. However, therewere a few with 75% Armor resistent Armor and a lot of skill who were tremendously tough fights. We would fight forever, often, I would use Holos. Things were pretty even.

These new cahnges just don't make any sense. The new snares and SL buffs simply give BH's more power. Sure, the weaker BH's may need an edge, but the "good" ones certainly don't.

At the same time a BH already has the element of surprise, he can strike when he wants, he is always expecting the fight, the Jedi isn't. Quite often a BH can win in the first 10 seconds. What these changes do is give an extra advantage to the BH, now not only does he have the ambush to use, but he also stands a much better chance in a pitched battle as well.

Well, I didn't say I didn't have a good saber. But all of my nice pearls came pre-CU. I have tried tuning some post-CU since Iwould likeone more good one, but I think the max I got was 32.Even if you say it's a matter of math, I haven't seen nor heard from any friends that they're getting anything near 100+ damage. Again, sounds like a lot of luck.

Haven't had that happen to me yet, but if it's true I'll retract my prior statement.

To me the real issue is that the concept that ANY buff is cancelled by ANY debuff. This is fundimentally flawed because of the way professions are supposed to work. Lower level skills have no business cancelling out 100% of higher level skills which is exactly what happens here. A Tier IV buff like FR2 or Master Level FR3 shouldn't be completely negated by a Novice sklil like Knee Cap Shot. That is bad design. Its not balanced. The goal was to prevent debuffs from stacking and buffs from stacking in a way that made debuffs useless. Instead they have overbalanced it the other way and made all buffs useless in the face of any opponent with a countering debuff. Its just not a good design. I wish they would admit it and just change it but I fear they will settle on just tweaking it somehow because they have a history of being very slow to give up on a design even if its flawed at its core.

What SOE overbalancing they never do that do they? /sarcasm off.

Observed that myself today.

A MCM/MBH/Pistol 0004 FOTM'er can keep a Jedi rooted/snared forever.
