Thread: Simple request to devs regarding visibility...
The main point again is realism, i'd totally support making jedi harder to get AND vis easier to attain. The game is full of jedi standing around showing off their powers in the middle of busy cities. These should be the jedi on the terms.
The jedi willing to hide (as they should in this timeline) should have a fighting chance of staying hidden and still be able to have the same fun the "show offs" have.
bah why should jedi have to get vis? Why shouldn't they just be allowed to access all of the games content with impunity. while being stronger than anybody else. why should they have to put up with 'forced pvp' at all? why dont the dev's just make "jedi" a starting class that u can grind up to in 24 hours.
/sarcasmoff
Jedi isn't a normal profession. Im a pistoleer, and i can enjoy all the NPC content I want with no fear of forced PvP. why dont you join me?

That isn't how I understood vis was supposed to work, So what your saying is only jedi are reporting other jedi to the BH terminals? Seems kinda backwards to me. I mean Obi-Wan didn't say "I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if a million souls cried out in torment and were silenced at once, Oh, and the jedi's name is Darth Vader"
I guess all in all it makes the game alot less fun for us few jedi that don't run around with robes on, LS equiped, and jedi titles over our heads. I would think the devs would want the jedi to hide for many reasons besides realism, but in doing so were not allowed access to some of the best content.
Ok...look at it this way. The Sith are reporting a lot of jedi to the BH guild, Jabba and others are reporting jedi, and people on the street are reporting jedi....Order-66, boys and girls. How you get visibility in a roleplay sense is up to your own imagination. The fact remains that the only way visibility can be removed in this game is to make all jedi perma-overt or to re-establish saber/powers tefs.
CSI Coronet found a mysterious crime scene today. It seems that 30 meatlumps just 250m from town were hacked to pieces by whatapeared to be a lightsaber. Reliable sources say they have found a dna sample of the attacker and are putting together a bio signiture. The Emperor assured the public that asizable bounty will be placed on this mass murderer and justice will be served.
There, maybe that is how you get vis even though you don't leave any survivors. Besides, Jedi shouldn't kill npc's unless they have to, leave the mass murder to us sith.

Ooooohhhh....I like that!!! Good roleplaying ![]()
And I don't mass murder...we call it exterminating vermin.
I can see both sides of the argument (and especially like Geddeo's scenario =). I guess I just get sick of getting cut off from most of the better content, and hope that the new system in the works can take a different approach to the whole situation.
This game has been taking a hard turn towards consentual PVP. After years playing different mmo's and getting ganked by the ever annoying unemployed kid typeswho have nothing better to do than figure out every exploit and use every 3rd party program they can in order to grief good honest players, I've finally given up the idea of going headlong into PVP situations.
I however for some reason did tons of hologrinding anyway knowing at some point I'd be forced into these situations and that is fine. It just burns me that the jedi that openly disregard the vis system are the ones who can have all the fun, while the jedi who choose to stay hidden (which IMHO makes the game more realistic for the timeline) are cut off from tons of fun content. IF only a system were made that made it more beneficial to hide the fact that your a jedi the whole game would at least seem more realistic imo.
If only the devs had put in the system they talked about where Boba Fett or Darth Vader would strike down the jedi openly displaying powers in busy towns. ![]()
Oh andbtw I would never afk grind, If I did ever take shortcuts I wouldnt still be a padawan.
Those of us who "openly disregard the vis system" have already spent the time in solitude grinding our temps. Vis is fine as it is, actually its way to easy now with groups not causing any.
