Thread: Outrageous
I have to say I agree here. The prices on the Pearls are unnerving. I'm not the richest player on server by any means. I had to save up to get some crystals for my jedi when I unlocked her and luckily with my friend's help.. I was able to make one. I found the best crystals I could get my hands on and made a 3rd generation saber. And it bites. 4.1speed? I got laughed at by a friend who said his saber never made it above 1.4 speed. I asked what he used and he only said one word, "Pearls." Pearls are 4 million a piece on Starsider and I have to do missions for quite a bit just to be able to get enough to get one. They need to do something about the price flux! I'm finally at 1.6 million after two days of solid hunting on Dantooine in a solo group. I wish the devs would understand that not everyone has 100 million credits in their bank account and can say.. ((This is a quote.)) "Oh yeah. I have a 5th generation saber that was made out of pearls. I mean what's the problem? They were only 4 million a piece?"
Please forgive me for my rant but I just had to say it. I'm looking for a cheaper pearl so maybe my Jedi could have some fun out there fighting. *sigh*
The 15 million bid has been withdrawn. The Jedi came to his senses.
4.1 speed? That's not too bad for leveling, considering the speed modification.

pearls and crystals are fine, should be tradable, ppl like them for decoration in houses, ive seen some amazing displays with them, just wait for the revamp.
exactly my point from a few weeks ago these are items we need at a reasonable price to make our weapons with if every museum collector **edit** who had his 50 pearl decoration corner up for sale to guys who actually need em then i wonder how much the price would drop, i bet there are 1000s of pearls on each server sat on someones coffee table or bookcase.
do i go buying krayt t21's geo sonci blasters to put em up on my wall and say hey look what ive got NO so why the **edit** do it to us.
Alternatively the devs can turn the drop rate right up and flood the market therefore dropping the prices.
Once we get a first look at it on TC2, we'll soon know
Hey, why aren't you guys all advocating that idea?
Turning the drop rate for pearls super high would cause the prices to fall twenty fold. realistically, a krayt SHOULD have plenty of peals in their gizzard for digestion and stuff. make it so krayt pearls drop more often than scales or composite segments and you guys are out of the mists.
Then again, how much do you REALLY need an uber lightsaber for levelling?
Maybe when we BHs come to play you could use a suped up lightsaber with pearls and sequins and all that crap, but for something that isn't eternal...
And it IS your own fault for pearl inflation. as stated many times before by others, you are the only ones who need them, you must be the only ones buying them. settle things in house before you cry to have such cool content as krayt pearls removed from the general populace. if the jedi can come together and agree not to pay more than 500k for a good pearl, do you think you'll still see serious merchants selling them for 18 million credits?
you've all become obsessed with this krayt pearl stuff. you don't have to be UBER OBER EBERY OBER JEDI.
it's like the song says, you've got to work hard if you want anything. so kill your own dragons, run crafters to buy your own pearls, or band together as a group and refuse to pay such exorbitant prices. for the time being, all you can do is pound sand, and from my perspective, thats all you SHOULD be able to do as an invidual in this matter.

Take a look at the skill tree, notice the amount of xp needed. Now look at how long a saber lasts for. Add some people who have millions of credits and couldn't give a damn about the jedi community and you'll soon realise your idea of a perfect jedi group not paying more than 500k for a pearl is just a dream.
If 2 jedi want the same pearl they will try to outbid each other, which is obviously why we are at these stupid prices now. So your idea of some kind of happy-la-la land with people actually being honest, kind and mature is unrealistic.
The only reason non-jedi want to keep a hold of pearls is because it makes them rich. All this talk of them being nice decorations is rubbish. There's plenty of decorations you can put on your tables and walls.
This discussion gets posted every day, or threads end up in this discussion. Just wait till TC2 and see what they have changed.

Nobody wants to go around doing 100+ of the same missions just to be able to afford something that will decay and end up useless. This is a GAME and people want to PLAY it. Maybe for some 'hardcore uber l33t' gamers who never go outside and play 24/7 your suggestion would be valid. But in reality nobody wants to have to do the same boring stuff over and over. I come away from work to play SWG, I don't load up SWG and want to have to do boring repetitive work.
