Thread: Pre CU Sabers vs Post CU Sabers. Relax, not a rant, just a question.

All my Pre CU sabers were full on damage experimented. They converted O.K. I guess. Im gonna give a post-cu crafting run a whirl though.

For better chances at Amazings, go to a city with the bonus. I forget the type of city it is. Anyway, make sure your ein a city like that, 15.00 tool, 49+ station, and BESPIN PORT. Pyollian cake for assembly cant hurt either.

Another question, Does any of the entertainer buffs enhance saber crafting?

I min-maxed a 12 point post-CU saber and compared a 2 speed, 2 damage, 8 eff to my pre-CU 8 eff/2 damage saber. Basically, you need 1 more experiment point into Speed to make it work out, but otherwise they're identical (except for 95 SAC vs. 100).

Dunno about 8 damage/2 eff pre-CU sabers, though

Yeah but Amazings get you more points. Example:

My toon Brodius is a 12 point Armorsmith. Lets say i start plugging away at an experimentation line. It takes 3 full experiments to cap the bar. If, however, I get an Amazing success, then it only takes 2 runs at the line to cap it. Does that make sense? At that point, I have 1 or 2 more points to dump into another line. What's even more fun, although WAY harder to get, is a critical success. It doesn't just cap the bar in one shot, but it raises the cap your resources would normally give you. Nothing like going from a 93% cap to 97%

So, with enough tries, you can make a 14 point saber eventually. Remember though!, and this is important, you have to take a drink of bespin port before every experimentation attempt.

If you posted that there is no difference between post and pre-cu sabers then you don't have one and have no clue about what your talking about. Anyone with a pre-cu saber knows that they are better and don't want to lose them. So they will lie and say that one can be made post-cu. It can't. Resources, saber suit. Nothing will make up for having to experiment in 1 extra tree now than we did pre-cu. I destroyed mine for the ADK right after the CU. But I didn't know how much better they were at the time. Everyone needs to re-make their sabers to balance it all out. And if the rest of you pre-cu Jedi want to flame. Have at it. But it won't change that, that's what needs to happen.

Easy chief, I never said they are the same. That's why I'm asking. For your information however, I unlocked February of '04 and was a pre 9 4/4/4/4 Guardian. At this point, Im trying to figure out a way to craft a saber now that will equal a pre cu saber. With Amazings, I think its nearly possible.

easy fix make all jedi sabers and items inside crafted items with one slot left for 1 crystal loot or mod to speed defense or damage cant have all-the possibilities would greatly fix our current probs between pre cu FRS jedi and post cu ones...a fair playing field is all most post ask for..they cant help they played the game..but alas like most ideas no one cares that matters...and yes im pre cu and yes i think post jedi not having the same chance to have a good saber(mine is 605-703 one hander cu conversion was brutal on me too) is garbage ive seen many a full temp paddy lose cause they have crap for sabers..if a loot system is in place then it needs to be working if not change it to crafted items..i hate looting its lame and un-star warsy for me..

Ok, Im gonna devote my time for awhile to make a saber that will equal most pre cu sabers. Im shooting for amazings and criticals. I know my way around a crafting tree so it shouldnt take too long. I will post updates and successes/failuresand maybe we can get a FAQ going.

Ill respond to this previous poster, yes in fact my pre cu saber is better, likely much better than yours, and no I dont feel the need to destroy it to make the playing field more "even"

Im sorry, I ground out my jedi with saber TEF, I had to hide for months on end, there was no grouping, then there was eventually the potential for 1-20 grps of gankers to come kill me, I died when there was a 3 life max limit to death. Ive never ran around theed dueling, Ive only ever fought in cities against opposing faction TEF jedi or BH that had my mission and only of necessity. I spent more money and credits in this game since release then you will ever likely see. Yes I did all these things after grinding through 26 professions and previous to that exploring throughly almost every planet looking for clues on how to unlock my jedi slot when the path was unknown still......

So when you who have likely visited the forums went and done a few jedi related "dungeons" visited POIS using a vehhicle yes, i even begrudge your lazy @SS vehicles and mounts because I sure didnt have those either, yes when you ask me to "destroy" my saber, something I spend months and 10's of millions of credits to obtain, so i can make a $%^&* post CU saber to make you feel better, it just makes me want to weep that my saber hurts your feelings.......no really.....

I mean I really had great fun for countless hours attempting to kill ancient kryat dragons for perfect pearls, and spending millions on resources for the best available, yeah, Ill be destroying my saber real soon......

FYI I was one of the first MBH on Ahazi, I am Jedi #28 to unlock, most old jedi have quit, so you should be happy to see us old jedi roaming around still, do not begrudge us what we have worked hard to obtain, just respect your elders and hope we dont have to hit you with our nice sabers once in awhile...

Ugh.... c'mon man

"respect your elders" ?!?!?!

You've got to be kidding me. I have an idea of what you can do with your oh-so-hard-earned pre-CU saber...

Sorry, but I hate elitist "I'm so much better than you" jerks. This game would be sooo much better without people like you in it.

BTW, did your feet get cold while you were walking 10 miles, uphill both ways, in the snow, without shoes? LoL

Have a nice day!

90-95% of it is in your actual saber components. (crystals/pearls)

The exta 5-10% is due to the conversion of pre-CU into the new system, such as approx. 10 more damage and reduced speed because experimentation was only 2 lines instead of 3. Ibelieve that double-bladed saber converted worse than 2-handed because double-bladed were the superior saber pre-CU and had the most damage, which in return had a slight decrease in stats in comparison to the other 2 saber types which were converted up.

In reality, w/ foods + insp. Buff + 12 point suit, that gap is pretty marginal and might actually be more favorable than pre-CU sabers. You are allowed more points and are able to experminet into different areas. Also, not to mention the whole diminishing returns system, you can have a 1.33 mod speed w/ Force speed 2, and be just about the same speed as a 1.23 mod speed saber w/ force speed 2 due to diminishing returns. You could even close that gap even further by gathering SEAs that narrow the gap.

So in regards to that, you can place a point or 2 in damage or speed.

In regards to your statement, pre-CU sabers are marginally better, if any at all, than post-CU sabers.
