Thread: New Testing Involving Jedi Accuracy CAs
I'd refer you to Staveeno for the speed formula and how it works.
Below copied from a seperate post by Staveeno:
Using the speed formula: Original * (0.5231+0.4769*2^(-SpeedMod/46))
MLS with FS Melee Speed you have +132 LS speed (+100 LS, +32 General Melee Speed)
So if your saber is 2.5 speed to begin with, #1, it will never go faster than 1.25 period. But just to throw some numbers out:
2.5 speed LS:
+132 Speed = 1.47 Modified Speed
Add a +25 LS Speed CA and you get a speed of +157
+157 Speed = 1.42 Modified Speed
Add a +25 General Melee Speed CA and you get a speed of +182
+182 Speed = 1.38 Modified Speed.

i guess this is has been my general feelig as well. but be nice to see the numbers.
I don't quite understand how your test is affected by speed at all. You've proven pretty conclusively that ACC is great even if you are already MLS. But are any speed results shown at all in your testing? Presumably you'd have to timestamp various combinations to test speed.

no i didnt time stamp anything. our testign was to deal with acc only.

Thanks loads for doing these tests!
Most interesting to me is seeing that the damage is the same--higher accuracy is supposed to translate into more damage, and yet I see that the damage was the same on the COB-less test with and without the +20 accuracy change.
Obviously, though, getting more hits is always good.
Thanks again!
I'm not sure why that is either. In other tests I've done I've noted a 1pt dmg increase per 10 pts of accuracy mod you have. Granted it depends on the target's overall defense and your overall accuracy, but the theory held up in the COB tests but appeared to not function the same in the COB-less tests.
Accuracy does allow you to hit higher into your max damage range but not by enough to warrant obtaining it for that reason alone. The overall increase in accuracy, as you can see, is very desirable.
Well, now you all have your 100 hit samples and can take it for what it's worth. I'm not doing 500 or 1000 hit tests unless someone is going to start cutting me checks. Enjoy and hope this helps somebody with their build and once again for the would-be flamers, we're just trying to help.
Probably because in the original test, you were probably hitting for 348.50 or so and in the one where you add +20 you were probably hitting for 349.49 or less. I would have to know the damage range of your saber to know for sure how much of an increase in damage you should get from +20

Ok, I missed the title and just saw the text dealing with speed.
have you seen this damage calculator?

1.25 HARD cap
A sad waste of a speed tape ineded...
Don't know if there is a hard cap but your modified speed will never be faster than 1/2 your original speed
nice post! we love to see hard number and thanks for the work. Some of us really appreciate it.

NP, we enjoyed doing it, hopefully it clears things up a bit.

Great data. Since I have a +15 ls accuracy and +25 general accuracy this makes me a happy camper lol.
well if only 25 sticks with CAs, then i say keep the 25 and sell the +15 one for some good money.
Only 25 sticks in a catagory. He would need a +10 LS Accuracy to max out that saber. There are CAs for each type of saber too. As far as I know there is no catch-all saber catagory.
I have a +25 GMS +15 Double-bladed Acc tape on a bandoliar. I knowtice a huge difference in speed. Stack that with speed 2 and Adrin buff from a DR and I was barly able to see the wind-up timer and the cool-down was much quicker. Diminishing return should mean no cap but the amount of points you can put into a catogory IS finite.
I would be happy to test speed with someone on Gorath. You would need to be a Master Defender to AI as I can out damage healing if you stand toe-to-toe. Send Ilorr (ilorr) an in game mail if you would be willing to test with me on Gorath. I also need to know how to log my combat spam.
Thanks,
Ilorr (err I wrote this under my Martan account, oh well)
