Yeah, because it was really hard for them to fightclub up the ranks wasn't it. Kudos to them for the mammoth effort that went into that!

You are miss informed.
To gain the title of "Knight" all you had to do was finish the trials. You did not fight club to get this title.
Anything like guardian or master was possible (and I stress possible) to gain via fightclubs.
If you see someone with the knight title up, it is becasue they finised the trials. If you don't know what the trials are then think padawan trials but with harder mobs and very hard to locate ones as well. It wasn't terribly challenging, but it could take people a while.

no, you will no longer be special with the uber stuff no one else can have. equality is coming. get behind it, or get run over. i am happier with these changes than anything done in game so far. although seeing ch removed hurts a bit. i was a ch before the very first nerf round back in 03...

Did anyone notice when Tiggs said Pearls will still be required to upgrade the saber? Well if that is true maybe all the people with gimped sabers will STILL be gimped. So maybe we should wait before we say equality is coming.

Actually Kraken I think you need to re-read Section IV of the FAQ reguarding Veteran Players.
If you dont want to hunt it down, I will gladly quote it for you.
We are offering current active characters several loyalty bonus items in recognition of their status in the game community as valued veterans.
• Elder Buff – Increases to combat abilities, this buff can be shared with new players.
• Elder Title – In recognition of your status in the game as a valued veteran player.
• Profession Re-Allocation Option – All characters active prior to the introduction of the new game enhancements will receive a total of 9 re-allocation options or charges attached to their character to allow the player to test out each of the new professions once before choosing the final path.
• Jedi Bonus Items – Power-enhanced Jedi Robe and Lightsaber color crystal and the opportunity to play as transcended blue glowing Jedi character.
• 10 Additional Combat Levels – New combat levels to explore from level 80 – 90.
That doesn't mean strictly Jedi. The only part of that posting that states Jedi in specific terms, is the Jedi Bonus Items part where it mentions power enhanced Jedi Robe, lightsaber color Crystal, and the opportunity to play as the blue glowie Jedi.
The veteran rewards are being given to those who have and have maintained active accounts up until the changes happen. So anyone purchasing the game after the changes hit, will not be able to obtain the non jedi specific rewards.

I don't get why you'd fight for this...can't any CL80 work their way to 90? How would this make you special (for anything but the 1st week or so)?

I did think. This kind of post is still more "give us veteran Jedi more 1337ness" nonsense that has gone on in these forums for months. You want CL90 handed to you on a silver platter, in the same way veterans consistently accused post-9/post-CU Jedi of wanting things handed to them for free.
You want CL90 fast? Get grinding, me bucko, bank 4mil before this hits and you should have an excellent headstart. I should think anyone who has attained Jedi would be a master grinder. On November 16th everyone in the whole game will be in the MO grinding up CL80-90, you might as well too.
