Thread: Rumors started by BHs to undermine Jedi...
I managed to not get hunted until I completed my grind to full template. Last saturday was my attack and I unlocked about a month before CU.

That means nothing really. Maybe it was luck, maybe not, but I feel like BHs encourage padawans with the promise of "No visibility the first week" just so they can get noobs on the terminals.

Well, I can't cloak when my speeder is close by...so that tells me that it is simply an object that is derived from the same class that NPCs derive from.
So yeah, I'd bet they'd give viz.

Here's two of my favorites:
1) No visibility in the first week: If you fall for this, and grind everywhere with no regard for visibility, you become easy prey for BHs. Easy to see why the BHs started this diabolical rumor.
2) Speeders give visibility: It's impossible to test, but my guess is BHs started this one so that Jedi would store their speeder. With the speeder stored, the Jedi has less escape options when they see the BH approaching...
What are some more?
Actually, as a BH, I like it when they leave the speeder out, it destroys one escape mode in the first volley. Then all they have is deeds.
STORE YOUR SPEEDER!!!
i like it when bh's destroy my speeder like n00bs, gives me first strike ![]()
I was told by a BH that the whole system was a big joke by SOE and that all jedi go on the terminals irregardless of visibility.

Actually, the no-cloaking-if-objects-are-within-20m rule is the same for Force Cloak and Rifleman Cover. More than likely the code for the two are shared. The problem seems to be that any objects cause Cloak / Cover to fail, not just NPCs. You cannot Cloak / Cover next to critters, either, and critters dont give visibility at all for sure. Recently group members were added as an exception to that code.
Visibility detection code is not the same as Cloak / Cover close-object checking code as far as I can tell, visibility range is 32m and Cloak / Cover close object detection code is using 20m.

True story!
However, he didnt tell the whole story - all Jedi end up on the terms because any high-end content either involves killing NPCs or PCs, so if a Jedi wants to do anything at all in game besides selling krayt pearls and shopping, he is bound to end up on the terms.

Yeah, this is what annoys me the most when you get BH saying 'well you had to have been showing off to be on the terms, so it's your own fault :-p'
You forgot the ones who just don't care

perhaps .. i for one have never heard these rumours .. and with 0 call time for speeders i dont mind if they keep them out .. in fact i prefer it .. i can blow it up and really cut off chances to escape .. or eject a jedi from his house by destroying his bike which may have been left outside ...
