I think Pre-CU was much more skill. When it came to stickin intimidate, the KDs and Dizzies. Now you just hit two attacks. Plus you have SO much exploiting these days.

And since when was Stackers > Jedi and Ranged > Stackers?

Master Pike, Dizzy KD capped, 60% PSG and 1000 damage LVA will beat a jedi fairly easily upto rank 4 or so. CM/Rifles pretty much kills Melee. Jedi blocks 75% ranged or what ever it was, can heal their dots, Jedi wins

Whoa 2000 damage pike with a 1500 action poison ? O_O

Go troll somewhere else to somebody who gives a damn. I maintain that it was all about stun weapons, dots, and damaging mind. The fact I was a trandosian with (maxed mind stats) didn't really help me in pvp, I got Dotted mind so much and my PvP rating got obliviated because of my inability to afford stun armour or my dislike of the profs who had stun weapons.

because

1. 40% stun armor + a psg pretty much made stun weapons crap unless they hit about 500 - 600 max.

2. i never dotten anyone but stackers since a 850 max t21 was alot more effective

3. the fact that you didnt have resist buffs.

Post cu you will ripped up by anyone with the same amount of cash as pre cu, if you dont have cash you cant do well in pvp.

What he said.

The real answer is that unless the only dif between any profession is the name there wont be tru balance. And since that game would suck ill deal with what we have. I think there were several unbalanced factors pre-cu. Stun was bad but only for the non PVP types who just wanted to duel, if they werent equiped for it they were hosed.Mind was your target.DOTS were just out of control. Stacking was ok as far as im concerened but there never was a ranged stack that really helped and there should have been. The looted weaponry was crazy. A guy w no talent, a psg and a looted 2k damage pike could kill Full temps w like three hits.

There is allot of things I miss from the pre-cu (not needing a group to level) but then there are allot of things I like about the CU. Balacne wasnt achieved then and it isnt now and unless they make the game really boring it never will be.

There was no template variance

And now there is?

I only see MBH MCM then MDOC MRIFLES and that would be it.

Pre-cu more balanced....lol...thats the funniest thing i've ever heard.

I guess pre-cu, 99% of the community being either swordsman, CM, rifleman, or jedi is really balanced huh.

Post-CU...I can make any template work to my advantage. I've been every single combat proffesion in this game, and have been around long enough to know what i'm talking about.

Pre-cu, it was just DoT, head hit, head hit, head hit, head hit, head hit...oh!.../stand...lets see now...head hit...head hit....head hit...

or fencer , tkm, docs, pikeman and pistoleer. Maybe not many carabineers all they needed are new weapons and they could be all set

Try not to pop your head on the ceiling dude. BTW were is the skill now in the CU it can never be balanced so why are we worried about that? There were ways to get around just the standard headhit. Perhaps you just didnt spend too much time tryign to figure them out.

and maybe some crafters/entertainers liked having a combat proffession and they could enjoy the game as all the others(CL 80)

P.S maybe not very effective in PVP but enough to come on guild hunts and defend their guilds bases or city.

The problem with Pre CU PvP, at least on Chilastra, was that it was completly lopsided towards the Imps. Rare was a rebel group that would participate while the Imp were running in numbers. Even when I could get a group of 5-6 people together, we were pwnd by 8-10. Now I can't say that the PvP ratios have changed too much, but the difference in timers and such have at least given the smaller group a better chance. In fact, I see much more rebels out and about now that they dont get incapped and Db'd in 10 secs.

Try runnin on bria. pre-cu there were herds of pvp's out fighting on both sides and large scale pvp. I had friends out the ying-yang and always win or lose had fun pvping with alot of the older players..post cu its a joke with the group reduction and all the crap of timers, most the ppl i know have quit due to the new system or sold their accounts i think since ppl are totally different. There was alot more to being a jedi too and lot less to doin this way as the timers and all the different stuff just makes it 10 year old play time. Lets face it we were thrown into the cu cause soe wanted more kids and wanted it to be more within their ability to play the game and doin this lost alot of vets and hardcore gamers. vcl levels are beyond stupid, grinding is like a frecking second job i dont want.

Anyone remember when you could go grind any combat prof with good comp in like 3 days.. i use to be able to change my whole temp in a matter of a week now im lucky to get leveled in a day of looking for group on a new toon.. all in all the cu is depressing and has made me come real close to quitting many times. im here because i already payed a year and hoping stuff changes..

Flame on all you want but lots of the true hard core gamers and many of the better pvpers would be here if not for cu

/miss Pre-CU

Ask nearly any Pre-CU PVP'er, and they'll tell you which system was better. I would argue a few things needed to be fixed or toned down, like CM poison, but in no way did we need a "Combat Upgrade" which turned this game into Everquest in space.

Terraval wrote:

Personally i feel that post cu is far more balanced. Before the cu, in PvP, all you needed was a stun weapon to dominate the battlefield. Professions like Teras Kasi were completely out of their depth when fighting, say, a fencer with a good stun baton. Admittedly there was stun layered armour, but these were pitiful in comparison to kinetic layered armour.

People also say that pre cu there was more strategy. I hardly call tapping the "unarmed hit 3" button until my opponent died, nor did spamming head shot require much tactical thinking. Now, the conservation of the secondary pools makes for a far more complex and balanced game, and healing now actually means something, rather than being a buff bot prof like before.

They may have taken healing a bit too far in that anytemp without it is not going to survive longin battle, but I'd rather have that than have the prof i liked at the time "Teras Kasi" being useless for PvP. And yes, jedi is weaker now, but with the ridiculous numbers of jedi all over the place, it was a requirement for normal profs to have any fun.

No way!! post-cu is slower and gives you an effing head ache when your PvPing. Personally the leader of this thread is so true...pre-cu was WAY more ballenced than post-CU. Have you noticed the amount of people that left the game because of the CU??? Nuff said /rude
