"Everyone can potentially become a Force-sensitive individual and eventually a Jedi."

This, to me, is the most interesting of his comments, and potentially the most revealing. If everyone can unlock their FS slot -which is presumably what he means,- then we have to look at what everyone has in common.

_____

what does everyone have in common? simple... we all pay 15 bucks a month... and we are all 'potentially' peeved that we have no clue, indication or way to even guess that we are making any kind od headway towards FSCS.

and Linkk said :

Just play the game and wait till someone unlocks the slot, then we will have something more than just theories.

_____

problem with that is, with the way the system is now... even when someone does unlock it... even they wont have the SLIGHTEST idea on what they did so we will be stuck with theories till the day the game is taken off-line and the devs finnally say something like ' all you needed to do was walk to co'ord +1354 -6452 on every planet... were suprised you didnt figure that out from those 4 statements...'

btw... this post is meant as nothing more than a poor, tired attempt at humor, sorry i had to use 2 quotes to bring that out, but i thought they were funny

HB: Jedi is classified as a profession, since we've taken Force powers and grouped them into skill sets, that can only be accessed once you've followed in Luke's footsteps. We're not revealing how you can become a Jedi, ever, but people will eventually catch on. You can't just start as one, it has to be earned through a relatively mysterious process. There will be some skill involved, probably a little bit of luck. Not everyone who attempts to become a Jedi will, that's just the plain and simple truth. Some people who never thought they'd be a Jedi may become Force sensitive...it's all just based on their actions--there's a definite progression. Your activities can and will affect this process, and likewise, certain things may disqualify you.”
Haden, Electric Playground Interview, Dec 2001

But before that.....

"The game will never bar you from being a Jedi. It remains achievable at all times. [...] I think the ‘anyone can be President’ analogy is actually a pretty good one..."
Raph, April 2001

If, as Raph states, "the game will never bar you from being a Jedi", then how can "certain things may disqualify you", as Haden put it?

They need to quit contradicting each other.

How are they contradicting eachother?

Your actions make the decision of you being a Jedi or not. If you make the right actions, you can be a Jedi. They are not stopping you from being a Jedi, but you are stopping yourself.

They are right in what they said, because it is our own doing to not allow us to be Jedi...

The most logical conclusion to those four statements (I always thought), is that they will hand-pick people to become FS. I hate to admit it, but every time I read that quote it fits more & more.

Both those quotes are two years old, but...

Like legal documents, I'd say the most recent statement is the most accurate one. Perhaps between April and December they made some changes? Maybe they've made some changes in the two years since?

Now, if both these statements were taken from the recent radio interview, then yeah, I'd call them conflicting... but with eight months between them and being two years old, I'd say it's most likely meaningless by now.

Actually, I believe they said that people are checking off items, not filling up the bar. I could be wrong though

No, you're right Fishman. They said people were "checking off items". They never said anything about a bar. I think he's just hearing what he wants to hear.
