And how do you know?????

Yeah well, it's also kind of weird to have a smuggler slicing swords, or slicing wooden staffs.

It's possible they don't mind us slicing them, and they're just trying to keep them off vendors/bazaar, which is understandable.

I'm sorry I just don't get it. I am still grinding to get to Jedi and I am sure that it will be difficult and maybe still bugged and all that but why is everyone complaining?

They had to design a system where everyone "could" attain Jedi status but at the same time they did not want groups of Jedi killing everything in sight because it went against continuity and killed the immersion for some people, so they made Jedi hard to attain and harder to maintain.

I do not know what level all the complainers are at but if you are an initiate and something kills you, well maybe that kind of makes sense seeing as how you are inexperienced and more or less untrained. In Episode 2 a lot of Jedi were killed by mere droids so they are not all-powerful.

The real reason Jedi are in the game (well really because Lucas demanded it) is because of the overall lack of content for everyone not just BH. A lot of people currently grinding would have quit the game by now if they were not working toward Jedi. Keeping the subscription base up is good for profitability. Some people will get Jedi and get sick of it and might quit but at least SOE milked an extra 3 months or so out of them. Hate to say it but its good business.

I want my Jedi character, and I want it to be hard and I really have no intention of trying to get to master with it just going to enjoy it a bit. If I die I die. If Iam underpowered, oh well. There will be fixes made once enough people start to quit that it hits them in the pocket. The sad thing is people expect that after the long grind they should be powerful enough I guess to solo an ancient krayt as an initiate. Makes lots of sense.

Unless you are arguing about bugs of such severity that you cannot play, like as soon as you turn your lightsaber on you die, then just be patient (Jedi trait) and wait until they get around to the balance issues. I think they will but even if they don't they made it abundantly clear early on that Jedi life would be very hard and difficult to sway people from going for it. I love how everyone readswarnings like that but in the back of their mind they think "well not me I will be super-duper powerful when I get my Jedi".

As for slicing sabers should not be sliced. No one but Jedi can even make them, so I do not understand how a smuggler would be able to take one apart and make it more powerful. Han Solo did not believe in the force and all that I guess he never directly said "I never sliced a lightsaber" but I think it was pretty much implied that he did know anything about Jedi. If you can do it in the game, then go for it, but it really should be taken away.

My understanding was that saber decay is so severe as it is, wouldn't getting it sliced just accelerate the decay rate? Sure more damage yea but its bad enough people use precious few good crystals and pearls on these things and have to deal with CF and I don't even know if sabers can be repaired, but if they can I bet they break just like everything else in the game because the repair system is flat out dumb. If thats the case seems you might be better off not slicing the saber anyway.

I am a newish jedi but have a question. I have enough xp built up in smuggling to get three boxes up in slicing which would allow for weapon slicing. Can I then slice my lightsaber, and if so is there anything wrong with doing it. One more question. If i slice my LS and dont like slice can i remove the crystals, make another then try a new slice?

It was possible, but it has always been considered an exploit and therefore a bannable offense.

I dont see how it could possible be a exploit if I was a jedi/smuggler doing my own LS. Thats just silly. next it will be a exploit for me to slice my armor lol.

sabers couldnt be traded, people used droids to trade them and get them sliced in the old system = exploit
now you dont even have the option when you have the skills to slice, cuz when u click it it wont slice, thats one of the reasons why sabers now are read as "containers" and not weapons. and now you cant even trade the saber i belive they fixed the droid tranfering ablity when you have an item in it that cant be traded. i know that from trying to change my yacht deed to my jedi becuase the command needed to get my deed wasnt working. but i got it fixed anyways

He brings up an interesting point about being both Jedi and Smuggler. But still.. I'd have to agree with the current system of sabers being unslicable..

Isn't it the crystals/pearls that determine the damage and speed?

So what your saying is the smuggler is unable to slice the crystals or pearls.

Since they aren't really weapons cuz if they are I shoudl be able throw one at somebody and do kinetic damage I don't think a smuggler should be able to slice them.

I could be wrong however and would like some explanation of what determines the stats of a Lightsabre.
