you guys are being too literal with the word "break". It doesn't mean you broke the armor....it means you found a way to break THROUGH the armor. Say you found they were attacking a certain way that exposes a certain area of the body and you hit them there. When it wears off.....they realized the weak spot and compensated.

And what about the word *armor*. If you don't have any... then where does your analogy come in at?

Jedi and TKM have innate armor. Armor means defenses and you found a way to hit through them. Doesn't have to always mean an actual set of armor you're wearing.....

ArmorBreak could need some work. A state that singlehandy boost damage output with +35% is way above the CU guidelines for how bonuses/buffs/debuffs should be balanced.

--- Cancelled 24th November 2006
Reason: The lack of multiplayer pve content and Star Wars feel.
For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

The only problem I see with AB, is that AB slices make armor much too effective against it. They should reduce slices from 75% to 25% resist, and give JEDI/TK some innate skills to match that. Like the post above says, AB makes combat more interesting and gives melee that slight edge to compete with kiting.

this could possibly be a valid argument if breaking your opponent's armor didn't also allow everyone else attacking that opponent to also hit for more damage.

jedi face the imbalance that they have no means to avoid the armor break, whereas armordonning players can get their armor sliced to resist.

gonna agree witth this guy.

you're a karate blackbelt against an aikido (whatever their ranking is.) you notice that often when he attacks, he leaves his left side exposed, thereby a break in his defense, or armour. he realizes soon enough that hes taking constant blows, and adjusts his fighting style.

stop trying to get things nerfed/removed. just play the game as it is(except of cource for the obvious bugs). remember, there is no "I WIN" button. and if you don't like the game as is, then just leave and let those that enjoy the game play the game.

first off us talking is what gets things done, I am not leaving the game so if you don't like what we talk about on the forum then leave the forum.

AB is nice for duels but useless for group pvp or group PVE. Unless you give us a area AB I would rather see it takin out and to confinsate more damage put in. Would you guys like to do more damage? Without AB?

I mean you armor break someone and they fix their armor 30 seconds later while in combat?? Take this out and just boost thoose professions damage output.

Since when has any rpg ever been "realistic" as you seem to expect it to be. If you're complaining about people fixing armor in combat why don't you complain about the fact that lasers aren't really little bolts of light, or how people can use melee profs to fight ranged profs, or how...anything... It's a game!

actually that makes alot of sense. Armor break = broken armor. Seems logical to me. But as expensive as armor is i would see why people wouldnt want that to be the case. The only way this would be good is if armor was cheaper to make and loot needed to create good armor is easy to come by. If that became the case then weaponsmiths would be in high demand all the time. Of course it would really be bad for those that have adk'ed a complete set of armor. I would also say if this became the case, which is just hypothetical of course, then innate armor should be much less effective compared to a suite of armor, as there is no risk of breakage and the chances of landing a sucessful armor break attack on a person that is wearing armor should become much more rare.In other words 1 out of every 5 or 10 armor break attacks would be sucessful. So it would be a trade up. Innate armor professions = less effective armor but no chance of armor break vs armor wearing professions = more effective armor but chance of completely broken armor. This could also add some interesting tactics to a battle. If the attacker uses armor break and by lucky chance it is successfull and breaks the leg armor of the defender as indicated in the combat log then the attacker would be wise to then use a leg attack.

Too often players and the devs have a mindset that professions should be balanced with 1 on 1 pvp in mind. This mindset is ruining the game. The benchmark for balance should be determined by the role a profession plays in a group setting. As long as the current mindset continues we will never see uniqueness among the professions, nor will we ever see individuality within a given profession. We will never see the SWG universe expanded as the focus will only ever be balance pass after balance pass after balance pass.
