The Devs really need to start fixing things, Lucas Arts is already keeping an eye on them. If they don't start Fixing things there going to start to have to look for a new development job
Don't say such things. Can you in good conscience advocate them doing this to ANOTHER game?

But if you think about it, There are just ruining there own reputation, If Lucas arts does relieve them of there job, I'm going to find it hard pressed to believe that a company would want to higher them.
They hired them after what they did to UO at Electronic Arts. This is nothing new for them.
EA has a history of closing down good MMO's. Earth and beyond for example........

ok. say lucasarts takes the rights away from SOE. who's gonna take over? Lucasarts, with no experience in the mmorpg sector? maybe you think , oh theyll give it to another reputable company. guess what, theyll have to start from scratch. 2 - 5 years of development. unable to use ANYTHING at all that was in original SWG as its all trademarked and copyrighted by SOE as intellectual property.
get real. Lucasarts cannot do anything at all. SWG is SOE's game and lucasarts know it. As long as LA get the regular influx of cash, which they are, they couldnt care less. if you think thats untrue, figure this, every single major patch / implementation / addition, that affects the entire gameplay.
Compat Upgrade
Jump To Lightspeed / Rage of the Wookies / Jedi Revamps
Force Ranking System
all have to be scrutinised and passed by Lucasarts for final approval.
How about some basic math.
250,000 subscribers * $200.00 year (roughly subscription + expansions) = $50,000,000 per year in raw revenues of which LA gets a cut.
Lets look at WoW's number which was done by a MMORPG "novice" and doesn't have the fanbase that Star Wars does.
2,500,000 subscribers * $200.00 (probably less, but lets pretend they are the same) = $500,000,000 per year in revenues.
Anyone with a basic grasp of economics can tell that SOE is not maximizing the value of the Star Wars franchise in the MMORPG space.

double the wow subscribers and ur right
there was an official press release stating there was over 5 mill subs 1.5 mill of whom were in china
You can't absolve SOE completely. But based on other games, you know SOE knows how a MMORPG should be written and run. But look at it:
1) RoTW - forced by LucasArts. They wanted an Episode III-themed expansion timed with the movie release. That means bug fixes and content are put on the back burner, no matter how many programming teams SOE says they have.
2) ToOW - forced by LucasArts. They wanted an Episode III-themed expansion timed with the DVD release. See above.
3) #1 above forced SOE to completely rethink the CU. Instead of everything they promised the players it would be, they had to follow the path of the Dark Side. Quick and easy, take what had been done before in other games. Of course, millions of rewritten lines of code aren't quick and easy. But it turned SWG from a one-of-a-kind game into a game that other SOE coders could quickly understand the concepts behind. It made transitioning coders in a lot easier.
4) It was LucasArts' decision to initially release the path to Jedi to the masses. How do I know this? I don't. But you have to admit, it makes perfect sense. SOE would not have the authority, under their licensing agreement, to make that decision.
LucasArts controls this game far more than most people think. SOE have certainly made mistakes, but not nearly to the degree that so many think. LucasArts pulls the strings, as their license allows them to do. They are the ones who have made the mistakes that have dragged the game down from any highs it once reached and they are the ones keeping it from its full potential.

Some things they could start with are.
Pearl Drops
Speed Bugs
Interface Bugs
Cloak issues
Combat bugs (like constantly leaving combat)
Pilot Mission bugs
Speed Exploits
The Entire Jedi Healing Profession

Umm Ya... They are pushing Hot fixes for both Live Bugs and the Beta bugs as we find them. Keep crying, no ones listening.
