AMD is slower in GHz so the 3400 is actually more like 2.8
they use the number 3400 to say thats what it compares to in Intel

Does that mean they run cooler than whatAMD's were notorious for? I had an AMD chip that gave me fits years ago so I've stayed away from them since then. This Intel chip I have is hot as a furnace, the stock fan sounded like an airplane taking off. Had to get a different fan to save my hearing lol.
EDIT: Oops, my message posted before Ithe lastmessage. This is getting off topic, though, I think I've gotten my question answered, thank you all for your help!

old chips were layered this way =
new chips layered this way II
supposedly allows heat to escape better
If you are killing the same mob with the same crystals (including the elemental damage crystal) on the same saber, then I'd suspect that those mobs have received an increase in resistances or our sabers have been nerfed yet again.

Heat has nothing to do with how Athlon 64s perform faster than Pentium 4s. It has to do with the fact that the A64 does more instructions per clock cycle (the hertz in GHz) than a P4 at the same speed. It has been this way since the Athlon XP.
Pre-Athlon XP the reason that the Athlon was faster than the Pentium at the same clock speed was its increased efficiency.
The Pentium was faster (more instructions per given time) with a wider bus, but from what I read the Pentium made more errors and ended up taking even more time to correct them compared to the Athlon due to the wider bus (supposedly more information to purge and rewrite when an error was made). I don't know if that makes any sense though since the bus is faster so should be able to take care of more info.
Is the XP still more efficient? I know that both CPUs are capable of generating some serious heat, so I doubt that heat is a significant factor in anything.

That saber isn't too bad compared to what the average jedi owns. I think that the issue was whether there is something changed WRT saber damage. This could be proven with even a 150-250 damage saber. LOL

I've never had issues with heat with ANY Athlon. I've had AMDs since the K series, and I've used even the stock fans included in the retail packages.
The only thing needed is a fairly weak intake and outtake case fan along with the correct amount of thermal grease. They run hot, but they have pretty good heat tolerance as well.
Given, I've never overclocked them-that might be a reason to go with a cooler processor.

First of all azzclown if ya cant be constructive and offer som advice without being an Idiot S T F U and stay out of the forums. He wasnt complaining about his general damage dealing ability. He was wondering if he was doing less damage due to a bug. I suggest you go back to Kindergarden and learn how to play nice with other people before opening that cake hole of yours on here again. Or maybe you need to go back to mommy and demand to be breast fed?For the OP of thisthread go to your Options Ctrl+O and click on your Chat Options and scroll all the way down. Make sure you have checked off Verbose Combat Chat Style and Include all messeges in combat chat. This will help you to see the damage you are doing both before Mitigation and After as well as what your Elemental Damage is.
You also get options for whether to show the weapon type and such. That can give you expanded combat information without a three or four line entry for each attack.
