Thread: How to make it worthwhile for a Jedi to stay and fight a bounty hunter

A Mercedes Benz will take you from point A to point B just the same as a Hyundai Sonata only the Benz does it a little bit better, but some people still find the prestige of driving the Benz worth the substantially higher cost to attain one.

Would you grind for over a year just to be slightly stronger then everyone else? What purpose does that serve?
If you wanna make a real comparison, compare a normal family car to an armored car (you know, the ones the banks use for transporting money).
They both go from A to B, but one is alot stronger and if it gets hit it's much, much safer.

I just wanna say the comparison itself is stupid though.
Characters in a game aren't cars, you level a character to be STRONGER, not transport you to a different location at a designated speed.
You wanna use cars, fine.
Would you work 10 years to afford a car that's only a tiny bit roomier and more comfortable then a car you could afford in a month?
If you wanna compare things, use logical comparisons, not ones that have nothing to do with the current topic.
The comparison IS logical --
A Jedi is a Mercedes Benz -- fast, sleek, high performance, more desired, more coveted ...
A Non-Jedi is a Hyundai Sonata -- practical, it can go fast but not as fast as a Benz, it's not very much desired, no one covets one ... but functionality-wise it can get you from Point A to Point B just like the Benz, except a Benz can do it just a little bit better.
They both do the same thing, with the Benz doing it a little better, why would anyone spend 5 times more money to buy a Benz? I mean, logic dictates that it doesn't make sense for anyone to buy Benzes? Right? Yet, they still do.
It is the same with Jedi. Jedi is a prestige class ...a highly coveted classthat can do things just a little bit better than a non-Jedi class. If Jedi was so weak, then NO PvP'er would ever waste their time grinding to get one, much less bother to enter the PvP arena with one. Ask yourself this: WHY is it that whenever there is overt PvP going down in Theed, it is ALWAYS Jedi who are fighting? Is it because these serious PvP'ers enjoy playing a weak class and getting beat down by these superior non-Jedi? Doubt it.
Amaranta say:" the Jedi class is more powerful than all others" You are a fool mean? sure, vs a droid engineer, yeah! is more powerful !
and sign: " senior jedi xp Removal Specialist", no comments, only i think you are a frustrate player
BH = lamer and sux profession.
I liked my idea of making a BH use a clear damage crystal to hunt a Jedi. They would have a menu on the crystal (saying"use")that said something like "The crystal glows, guiding you to what you seek". Then it would give you the name and "Bio" sig.
Makes sense to me since we're connected to the force and should be harder to find than a NPC.
Then if we beat them we get the crystal. Who wouldn't fight?
Plus, only the real BH would come out to play ![]()

that would just raise raise the prices of crystals

Eh? You think Jedi is a weak class? LOL. Then answer this: Why is it that whenever there is overt PvP, all save one or two of the combatants are Jedi? Is it because hardcore PvP'ers enjoy losing by playing a weak class?
i was told that xp loss on jedi was put there to prevent bh and jedi from continously hunting each other and splitting the reward, but now that names and online status are gone, shouldnt exp loss go as well? or at least put in a system that make it go away?
a gradual forgivness thing? like start taking exp away after a certain amount of time uve gone offline and gradually take it away till its gone and if u want to keep playing deduct exp from the amount u get and keep deducting until its gone, that way u can neve rhave negative exp but sitll have penaltys. its still a game after all.
They could re-use the crystal if they lived

The idea of letting the Jedi gain something (beside keeping his/her xp) is good, it may get some more Jedi put a fight up - if the reward is good (money usually don't appeal), perhaps some sort of premium crystal should attract altest the saber swinging Jedi and for force power userssome sort of enhancing crystal (force accuracy, damage output - in other words a force powerenhancing kyber crystal). Good to see ideas from people forming.

Jedi got what they wanted when Perma-Death was removed. Back in the days when I started my Jedi, you would vanish if you could not stand and fight.
That was population control, that was the time where Jedi meant something.
I really can't understand all the moaning, griefing and bit*hing about the current system. It is far less punishing than anything we old time Jedi had to face.
I am not really siding with any class, neither Jedi, nor BH, because on both sides there is a substantial amount of kids who cry about anything, but regarding this, it is just pointless.
However, in most cases, I have a tendency towards the BH since I am a hardcore roleplayer and this game is an MMORPG.
The Jedi are (mind: in PvP and High-End PvE (Lvl 85+)) a lot stronger than any other profession if played well, even with a mediocre saber. If you do not believe it, ask a weaponsmith, ask someone who has a clue about PvP.
I agree that Jedi has its drawbacks (the force pool), but still the powers of a jedi far outweight this if played correctly.
You guys who whine all the time should just realise one thing: You are not meant to stand around in a starport waving the saber, you are meant to live like Ben Kenobi - If you do not, face all the consequences which apply.
