Something similar to the way KOTOR is, some quest based jedi content that grants light or darkside points for how you carry out the quest, and how you interact with other players.


The FRS could be based on light or dark side points, not PVP only, and not imperial and rebel!, but how you play your Jedi in any given circumstance.


eg act with honor = light side points, act without remorse = darkside points, act like a bunch of goons = lose of your Jedi power

Why?


Because it includes Player Vs Player that doesn'tthe end out come based onpure numbers, it requires organization , skill and plenty of time gaining rare and good loot.

Because DoTs balanced everything

Because we had the ablility too have groups of people chase you around for hours accross planets

Because we had a Force Ranking System, Fightclubs were fun

Because we had something too look forward too when logging on, etc killing krayts getting 20-30 premo/flawless a day, selling half of em and then selling the credits



PreCU was worth loggin on for ingame , SWG is only good for using the forum now. Sad ..but true.

These are a few select ideas to hopefully improve the Jedi Profession and return to Iconic status in the game.


Galaxies Immersion


  • Jedi should be Hidden

  • The Jedi Bounty system doesn't work

Oh how people moan about starport fights. These are the same people who generally claim Jedi ruins the game and that BH don't really do anything to limit Jedi. Well I to think that Jedi should hidden too, I'm not a flashy guy, and no BH don't really limit the Jedi Population. They annoy it (ahem, putting it politely), make it take more time, but otherwise they can't limit it. These people already have Jedi, so how can a BH stop them? Will a Jedi actually quit because of BH? Not often enough to matter, and many of the ones who do will be "ebayed." Does this situation cause alot of needless animosity in the playerbase? Absolutely.


Fixes:


This can all be eliminated with one big design change to the Jedi system itself, and smaller ones for BH. First is the elimination of the player Bounty System in it's current form. "What? You're just a carebear!" I said in it's current form. There's a difference. Would player bounties be available on Jedi? Yes. Would they be 1v1? Only if the BH and Jedi choose them to be.Jedi get back the 20x power and 85% saberblock, BH can group with other MBH (this would allow groups to mix/match temps to hunt Jedi)and hunt a Jedi. Of course if the Jedi is in a group, his friends can fight back too. No rest for the wicked folks, if you're going to hunt Jedi, you'd better bring serious firepower. This let's BH keep their bounty system and doesn't impose the illogic of having to stand by while a friend is being pounded on. The best part is that since Jedi have nothing to lose, all penalties aretaken care of below, and the BH can't see the Jedi name eliminating or severly limiting creditfarming, let there be fights. With no XP loss from BH, we'veended that issue.


Also note, making Jedi able to grind alone again (hint hint devs)would increase the amount of solo Jedi again. (I do happen to be a big fan of the solo grind, and getting together for questing or SF General GCW)


Now the actual system to limit the visibility and arrogance of Jedi is rather simple, and hopefully fun. When your vis get's high enough, an Emperor's Hand (Mara Jade, et al.) comes to hunt you down. Rebel, Imperial, neutral, it doesn't matter. If you manage to defeat these agents (Iconiccharacters like Boba andMaraare defeated, not killed, non-iconic can die) then the Dark Lord himself comes. You won't stand much of a chance ofdefeating (5% at best)Lord Vader, so the others should be a clue to tone down your profile. If you fail, you get some serious Blue Glowie time (looking for duration here, would go with Jedi consensus, with a maximum currently looking like 2 weeks of Glowie Time running on or offline), duration going up as more points are invested in Jedi SP (to let newbies learn). During Blue Glowie time, you are limited to non-interaction with anyone other than another blue glowie. Incidentally, Red Glowie time for dark jedi. Now this timer could possibly run during "offline" time too, so that a Jedi isn't stuck playing a ghost character. Glowie time also means you can't go into faction bases or dungeons (at least instanced, I'm not sure about other coding).


Visibility will also be tuned so that the only NPCs to give you visibility are those in a Static NPC city or opposite faction. If you are Neutral only Imperialswill report you as Rebels hope they might lure you to their cause.



  • 5 Emperor's Hand Agents with the first being a warning, effectively, to 50% SP invested Jedi (i.e. if you've got approx 50% in Jedi,it probablywon't be too bad a fight)

  • Vis still dissipates over 3 weeks, so even after the warning, Jedi will keep a low profile.

  • No more Vis from speeders, et al, but Vis rates heightened for those NPC's that give Vis.

Lightsabers



  • Premium Jedi weapon items are not dropping

  • Jedi weapons are underpowered

  • The tuning system is psychotically foolish

This is both easy and difficult to fix. First, let's lose the stupid crystal and pearl farming altogether by making those items go away (for Jedi).


This isreally are pathetic. Without the higher level crystal/pearls, tuning (a sick joke in it's own right) for a lightsaber is not fun. Even with, it's one heartbreak after another.Faced with the Knight trials, many a Post-CU Jedi will be easy targets for many Pre-CU Jedi. Let's not forget the ADK'edranged weapons that top to 1100 damage. Yes, in the CU, Jedi is truly in a sorry state.


First the 5th generation saber would compete against the Krayt superweapons that people are employing. I'm not even going to get into the pre-cu weapons that didn't convert proper, we'll fix the problems with these ADK monsters.5th generation sabers should top out at the same as other high weapon caps (my friend just built a Krayted Scatter with 100 tissues that is over 950... un-sliced or pup'ed, let's not discuss his Trando Rifle or FWG5 [Double Checking Scatter Dmg as poster below said cap was 948] Note: Featherweight FWG5 was Pistol (966 or 1084 w/ Powerup).


All Current Sabers would be broken down and resources given back to players. Crystals (and pearls would magically change into crystals) would be of the appropriate type (Poor, Fair, Good, Quality, Premium, Flawless). Yes this would cause some irate feelings, but you no longer have to pay millions or camp for hours. Read on.


Next, obtaining (damage) crystals and pearls should be done away with, well, the current method that is. A Jedi, as part of the initiate box, should be able to construct a "Force Crystal Detector" to search for crystals. Using survey-like skills, they look for the best crystals, but instead of mind the detector uses FP. Since these crystals go into lightsabers, the quality of the crystals depends upon level of your lightsaber skills/FP. Now to obtain the top quality crystals you do need MLS, but, everyone gets the next step below with only two of the four trees. This should allow everyone (in my thoughts) to obtain crystals that will make usable sabers, especially if they make Powers viable.


When they find the best crystal location they can (variable on LS skill/FP) they "sample" and use the force to pull the best crystal they can. This takes a large amount of force as the Jedi is reaching out to discover the best crystal. This can only be done once per location, the Jedi will have to move on to find the next crystal. Next these crystals will only be located (after the first level, currently equated as poor) on less than hospitable planets, and take progessively longer to "sample". You may find "poor" quality on any planet, but on a planet that you might find "Flawless" you can find anything lower as well.


Tuning would be handled one of two ways. Both require large amounts of FP (and a good bit of time).


For the Darksiders, they construct a Crystal Furnace, which they pour their FP into molding the crystal to their hatred. Forcing it to grow and change according to their aims.


For the Lightsiders, they build a Crystal Matrix, which they pour their FP into trying to polish and position the stone to enhance it's natural qualities.


In both cases the more FP they are willing to dump into the process the faster the tune will complete, however, it should not take less than a minimum of 24hrs per crystal for a Double Master. You can only dump power into the crystal twice per day. You can remove a crystal before it is fully tuned, but it will be forever stuck at it's current level. Tuning is also less random, no more of the premium crystals tuning worse than the fair crystals. A premium will always tune better than a quality, et al.



  • 5th Gen Lightsaber returned to MLS.

  • Lightsaber damage will be returned to the game.

  • Jedi weapon damagewill be brought into par with rifles.

  • Armorbreak slices are nearworthless, asmost armor itself has no resists, also means armorbreak itself is nearly worthless.

  • Twotypes of armor will be allowed to have lightsaber resists, RIS is capped at 25%and Mandalorian, capped at 35%.

Limitations:



  • Can only pull 1 crystal out per scan.

  • Can only tune one crystal at a time.

  • Only usable by the Jedi who pulled it.

  • Dungeons could be rebalanced for all as Jedi now causing LS Damage.

GCW woes:


This constant whine. It irritates the playerbase. It should be gone. After all if they can't PvP with Jedi now, what about when they're 20x the power? So we bow out of SF regular. We get to keep the combatant, in addition we get the option of SF General (as in General Kenobi) because Jedi aren't some rabble (and the option of a "General" rank). There is, on each "core" planet (buildable planets), one planetary control base (permanent), and a hard cap on other bases (separate cap forSF and PvE) for each planet. This gives "normal" players options to help for control as only they can go regular SF, but can also be Combatant and SF General. The Planetary Control base counts the most followed by the SF bases, finally the PvE bases. All of them have 1 unkillable "recruiter" so people can go Combatant, SF, or SF General. Jedi would not be able to help take down regular SF bases nor attack regular SF or Combatant players (but would be able to attack PvE bases). SF players would be unable to attack combatants (as now)or SF Generals. Combatant remains unchanged. No GTEF's. You *must* be an SF General to attack or defend the Planetary Control Base.



  • Normal Players: On Leave, Combatant, SF, SF General

  • Jedi: On Leave, Combatant, SF General

Planetary control bases would have serious level NPC's (95+) plus whatever players decide to defend them. The bases themselves would be vulnerable 4 times per day (to give players in multiple time zones the best chance to participate) and have the single largest effect on GCW "score" for a planet. NPC static city guards also get a big CL boost to make them, and the planetary control, more effective.



  • 40% for Planetary Control (only 1 per planet).

  • 40% for SF Bases (looking for hard cap numbers).

  • 20% for PvE Bases (looking for hard cap numbers, probably equal to SF).

  • Hopefully ends "Base Dropping Wars".

  • Player controlled turrets that function like JTL turrets! If destroyed with player inside, player is killed.

Powers


Powers should be fixed so that it's 1 for 1 roughly (little less [.8?]due to ranged capability) damage with lightsaber. A powers Jedi needs to be a tough cookie. Right now, powers is hardly worth the grind time, well it isn't if you listen to some. I keep thinking of the joke someone had in their sig about the Ep4 chat Obi-Wan and Vader had, "Only a master of Powers Darth. Don't you know that skilltree is borked?"


Healer


What can you say other than that it needs a revive and the rest of the tree is pretty much trash right now. Probably the actual first tree for real attention past the (hopefully) quickie fixes below.


Defender



  • Jedi is the only class to have to buy defenses separately.

This is a poor design decision in many respects. How could we go about repairing this?


NOTE: I would cap innate armor at the current level in defender and spread it out into the other the other trees so that a dual Mastery has the same as a current defender.



  • Delete the whole defender tree. Allow anyone with points in defender to move them elsewhere.

  • Move the physical mods (Block,Ranged/Melee Defense) to Lightsaber.

  • Move the Force Aura andAvoid Incap to Enhancer, lower Force Cost (for AI).

  • Move theForce Defense mods to Powers.

  • Move State Defenses to Healer.


Quickie Fixes:


LS Speed: C'mon, 4+ months?


Cloak: This doesn't need a snare. What it needs is the agro bug fixed, and world interaction to break it.


States: Would be nice if they worked.


Now this is just some quickie ideas. I'll get my flameproof suit on now It still needs alot of work.


EDIT: Incorporating requested info on Artisans and Merchants, added Politicians.


Well incorporating Artisans, Merchants, and Politicians would be as simple as:


Mayors able to set city policy: Rebel, Rebel Stronghold, Imperial, Imperial Stronghold, Neutral, Neutral Stronghold


The following settings apply to City operated facilities only (Shuttleport, Cloning Center, et al)


Rebel: Rebels and Neutrals


Rebel Stronghold: Only Rebels (Combatant or higher)


Imperial: Imperials and Neutrals


Imperial Stronghold: Only Imperials (Combatant or higher)


Neutral: Imp, Reb, or Neutral


Neutral Stronghold: Imp, Reb, or Neutral but *no* Combatants, SF, or SF Generals.


Merchants should be able to set their vendors to "refuse" service to overt (Com, SF, SF:G) of a faction or both factions if desired.


Artisans should be able to craft faction specific Weapons, Armor, Defenses (walls and such). Some of this they can do now, some would have to be added.


Next requested Edit:


To end all idiots dueling in town someone has requested a "police action" by the local enforcement types. I don't know if it's feasible to apply it only to duels (the only thing requested), but it would be kinda nice I guess. The idea does make sense. How many societies allow dueling weapons, or no, in the streets. I doubt it's really feasible though, it'd probably mess up GCW interaction
