Thread: SL Nerf, or Jedi / BH TEF?
Long term: Kill the BH missions. They are a nerfing spiral that takes up too much resources that should have been spent on fixing other professionsand it will never be fully balanced.
Best solution otherwise: Just kill the buffs when the TEF is initiated.
Bounty Hunting is a solo deal. The very essence of Squad Leader is grouping and support. No need to hurt true Squad Leaders becouse BH's use SL as a tool for their own ends.
Drop all SL buffs when BH/Jedi TEF is initiated, and only for the duration of the TEF.
Squad Leaders don't need nerfed.

I really want to know how they do that.
It's like multiple personalities...

there is no need for either, as it currently stand's sl buff's follow exactly the same rules as doctor buff's. The only change that needs to be made is the one that allow's sl group buff's to function when the sl is not near by.
Spoken like a true BH

well they can only use one buff on themselves at a time, group buffs only.
far from game breaking. and if they are buffing themselves they have sucked up a bunch of skill points to get mbh/msl sacrificing their damage output and making them pretty wimpy. has anyone seriously been beat by a mbh/msl? doubt it.
furthermore, msl as individuals really aren't as tough as they were pre 24, with the passive bonuses turned to buffs, now instead of a constant bonus to all defenses and terrain negotiation, burst run timers and efficency, we can only use one of those things at a time unless grouped with other sl. think about it this way: now i can have one bonus running at a time and calledshot or paint, pre 24 i had: group terrain buff, ranged def buff, melee def buff, volley fire (called shot/paint what have you), rally (a great ability)and even steady aim (questionable ability) all running at the same time. i need 4 squadleaders to do that now.

SL buffs shouldn't function like doc buffs though...
they are meant to be used for a person leading a squad, not used for a person to make themselves uber in a 1 on 1 fight.
I am all for some of the SL's ideas of making the BH TEF remove SL buffs completely when you entire combat....you're not part of the squad so they shouldn't benefit you.

thats what i thought at first... but by that thought process shouldn't all the doc buffs and foods and whatnot drop too? that doesn't make sense... this issue is no different than getting a doc buff before the fight. jedi are concerned because like doc buffs they are at the disadvantage of not knowing when they will be attacked. sometimes it works out for them though. last night a bh came for a jedi in my group at the moment i buffed him (hes a support jedi not damage dealer)... that bh lost. it goes both ways.
That doesn't make any sense.
Doc buffs - a player physically injects the player to increase their physical performance/durability.
Food buffs - a player physically eats/drinks an item to increase their physical performance/durability.
SL buffs - a players focuses group attention on specific areas of combat (i.e., defense, damage, movement speed, a specific target), increasing each player's abilities in those areas. SL player specific buffs allow a SL to focus the abilities of one specific player in these same areas to a greater affect with the SL motivating them (i.e., while within the 100m of a SL, same as group buffs).
Suggesting that injecting a player (or eating food)and providing leadership based buffs are the same thing is simply wrong.
