Congrats on the Jedi Master, that robe is suhweeet. I totally support what you guys have done, The system is aparantly borked, you guys improvised....well done.

SOE's philosophy in a nutshell is this. If someone or a group of people are special, and different from others, then by all means strip the special people of the things that made them special in the first place. Do this so that the not- so- special people dont feel bad about themselves. By all means DO NOT encourage the not- so -special people to strive to themselves become special. Its not like we all didnt start with 250 credits a cdef and a melon.

While im not going to call doing this a bug, it is not using the system as intended. While I agree, the FRS is completely useless at present...I cannot, and will not ever say that the way this was done was "OK". It may not get you banned...but that still dosnt make it right. It is by definition "exploiting a system or game mechanic" meaning it is not being done as intended. I have to disagree at everyones attempt at excusing thier actions.

Even if the rules/ideas of the system make no difference, and you just want to flame anyone who dosnt agree with abusing a game system...you should at least realize what you have done to the jedi community.

If in the future they ever do put in a better FRS...it will now mean nothing for those who put in alot of hard work and time...as thier titles will be considered a joke now that you have made them into that.

Flame me if you must...but Im not grinding my way through a system laying on my back for a title.

Of course there is. It's just hidden (as claimed by the devs).

The problem here is that what is clashing is not just people's opinions on exploits/rules/tactics, but on deep personality issues, and philosophy issues about what people are doing in SWG, and in how they view the game itself. Let me explain...

Some folks come from a gaming background, and view SWG as a game, to be played, mastered, completed, and beaten. These folks are primarily GAMERS who have fun by getting to the top, and will use the rules of the game to get there in whatever way they can. There are some who would exploit, cheat, or do WHATEVER is necessary to reach the master level, but most are honest and rule-abiding folks whose main focus views SWG as a GAME to bemastered, and as such will do what they deem necessary to reach the "end" or "mastery" of their chosen path. To these folks, distinctions between light and dark jedi have little meaning, as they see everyone else as just other gamers, to be fought or cooperated with as needed to advance or make the gaming fun, and have no problem cooperating with their opposite side counterparts if necessary to advance their main goal of completing the mastery. They aren't good or bad, evil or pure -- they just have the central mindset that this should be treated like a GAME and everyone needs to go ahead and do what they need to do to get ahead.

Other folks come from more of an RPG background (or are much more tied to being SW fans first and gamers second). These folks see this as a WORLD, to be played in as a character, with a persona, relationships, codes of conduct and attitudes that transcend the goal of reaching the "end" or mastery, and are to them of prime importance. These folks can strive just as hard for mastery, but if what they have to do to get there conflicts with their persona's view of right and wrong, or requires them to do something totally abhorrent to their ingame world view, they will stick to their code of conduct and abandon the "mastery" goal. For example in this scenario, these folks would NEVER enter into agreement with their sworn enemies for mutual advancement, as in their view it would be against their code and interest. For these folks, if dark, they feel the light should be eradicated and would never help them gain power, and if light, they feel the dark should be turned to light, and would never want to make the dark more powerful either. These folks aren't any better than the gamers, nor are they good or bad either, they just have a different central view of what SWG is, and how they get their fun from it. These folks are RPG'ers and feel there is more to the game than just reaching the top mastery in your chosen field.

These two playstyles come into conflict all the time in this game, but never more so than in this situation. The GAMERS really see nothing wrong in what these Bria "illuminati" are doing. They just can't see why someone would care, and simply feel they are doing what they have to within the system to reach their goal of mastery. On the other side, the RPG'ers cannot fathom how these people can see this as appropriate, or good, since they are obviously throwing away all pretense of RPG, and stepping on the toes of anyone who thinks the distinction of light v. dark has meaning. These folks cannot fathom Obi-Wan walking up to Darth Vader at the end of SW:ANH and saying "Hey Darth, i'll let you kill me for some FRS xp, and then I'll kill you so we both gain, ok?" It's just anathema to the RPG'ers.

That being said, I think we all need to realize that neither side is going to agree that the other is right. We also have to understand that no one is evil, no one is altogether "right," no one is altogether "wrong" in this debate. We are just running smack into the dichotomy between the GAMERS/POWERGAMERS and the RPG'ers of this combined world in which we play.

shut up already its an exploit im sure they will put at end to it fast just like the BH/Jedi exploit....

fixes dont happen overnight....

as for the robe still nice to see somebody actually got up that high to see what the robes are....

they put at end to the exploit of the jedi who took a non jedi and kd him over and over a long time ago in old system for jedi xp...

Im sure SOE will not stand for jedi and dark jedi doing each other purposely for gaining frs points in this manner....

In any case besides the ding dongs who always seem to fight that part of the problem of what the jedi did on BRIA it is still a good post and thanks for posting the pics of the robes always nice to see something havent seen before.

Hey dumbass if it's such an obvious exploit name the BUG that is being exploited. That is the definition of an exploit, btw. Why do I have a feeling your response to my post is going to try to avoid this question ???? BECAUSE THERE IS NO BUG.

Right now gaining FRS xp is the same as killing overt non-jedi rebels used to be. LEGIT. It is a game mechanic, that is working as the developers INTENDED it to work. Yes you gain more xp than you lose when you kill a jedi than when you die to a jedi, but guess what, this HAS TO HAPPEN otherwise you would have FRS xp flowing out of the system all the time and no number of Jedi would make up for that. If the only way to get XP is to kill other FRS Jedi, there has to be some way to input new FRS xp into the system otherwise nobody will gain any rank EVER.

I WANT YOU TO PROVE ME WRONG ON THIS JUST NAME THE FRICKIN BUG ALREADY AND I WILL SHUT UP!!!!!!

what about the evalander187 or whatever his name was doing the same thing to level in the FRS and is now banned from the game?

It might not technically be considered Exploiting, but it is deffinately using a workaround to completely circumvent the entire point of the FRS system, that being the fact that its supposed to be extremely hard to get and maintain your rank. It'll be fixed, and the devs will nerf something else in the system to make it that much harder, you guys are just going to end up screwing over the rest of the Jedi population by abusing the system.

This is what makes the devs nerf in-game systems.
