Thread: Jedi and their Roles in PvP and GCW Real Issues Real Solutions = Game Design... Need It!
you sure did write alot of bologna for not having any real points. lets do basic knowledge of jedi now
1 sabers- are outdamaged 2-4times by regular weapons
2 heals-again we are outhealed up to 4 to 1 and even more, and jedi 1 heal is on a 6 second timer
3 armor- lol what armor? our armor is neither sliced for ab, or really even comparable to what regular professions are wearing.
4 THE TRUTH- jedi players are you real, hardcore , highly skilled players. look at the grinds that they have to go through, just to make padawan, exp ratios og 30 to 1, and 5 to 1 for jedi. GEEZ just a 1 box amounts to about 1000000, a 2 box2000000, a 3 box4000000, a 4 box 8000000, and finally a master box 16000000. so i think this gives you just a little insight on how well a jedi will havedeveloped his skills by the time he is full temp. but when his grinfd to full temp is done, it doesnt end there.
he/she still has to make a great saber at even more impossible odds.
it took me about a year to make my 701 -718 damage sabe i use now, depending which "alternate pearl" i go with. a year. not 2 weeks, not 2 months, heck , not 6 months,, a year.
regular professions are uber, very uber if the right skills /heals /foods are put together. the only regular professions getting mowed down are those that dont have any healing. are naked, forgot their weapons , or are afk.
the jedi you see getting mowed down right now are those that did the "new" 2 week full template grind. but havent yet done the 1 year krayt hunt pearl grind. i have literally throwm away 100s and 100s and 100s of paerls that tuned bad, for a year, to get the 5 i have now.
my main point is, now that regular professions are just as uber as jedi if played right, just like for a jedi to be uber it has to be played right, you have no point.
a great post,
what i get from reading this is this game needs more content, we need reasons to get into team and complete objectives as a group, with each members skills needed,a instantbattlefield is the answer to most of the problems in this game. imo
This is something no one seems to realize:
" * No two unlike professions should be equal in combat.
o Ranged and melee by design are different, and not equal in 1v1
o Jedi and non-Jedi by design are different, and not equal in 1v1
o Combat support professions by design are different, and not equal in 1v1
Equivalence of different professions in 1v1 dueling is a myth, it will never happen. "
QFE
Those who run around and call today's SWG red dot chasing / dueling a PvP game, trying to force people to do it, are just so missing the boat that they're drowning."
Are you are the type of person who plays a game at the easiest difficulty setting ? Never increasing the diffuculty even though you win every time ? Im not, I keep going until i beat it on the hardest. After what what is there ? Play other players. PvE is NO challenge, none what so ever. Other players create a opponent that is unpredictable and difficult to defeat, that is why people PvP. Sure there is alot of nonesence that goes on, and there are the majority of people who only play the game to annoy other people. We are not all kiddies, as I am sure you are not all carebears who suck at the game and are too scared to fight a real opponent...
Read the rest of the thread to put it into context. The issue is not PvP, its 1v1 mortal combat kiddie red dot chasing when it should be at least 5v5 to make it real multiplayer combat, the kind of combat all other games are designed for. The kinds of combat that even SWG was designed for when they gave us tanks, ranged, melee, mezzers, etc.
If you read further, you'd also put it into context of having venues to engage 5v5 or more around, with objectives, rewards and other elements that other games have, that we lack...
It all links together, which is why there's 7 parts to the thread... there's no easy fix for our woes, these rootfundamentals that are missing are many, and the symptoms are even more. Peeps keep trying to treat the symptoms... The fundamentals that make other multiplayer combat games enriching and satisfying are pretty ... fundamental. And we don't have em.
