Now for the holes in the one-dimentional genre description a few posts up:

Jedi serve and protect, but that does not mean they don't investigate and attack. BH's hunt whatever has the bounty. And in the movies, more often than not, they were targets of influence and prestige and not necessarily Jedi. Sith aren't just hunters. They manipulate a wide assortment of situations to achieve their own purpose. Sure Jedi are prime targets. Not the ONLY targets. Examples...

Episode 1 - Sith hunt the Queen, not the Jedi. Yes, Jedi protect. But thenthey were assigned the task of discovering the identity of the attacker. Mission based.

Episode 2 - BH was hunting the Queen (then Senator), not the Jedi. Jedi protect yet again but then Obi-Wan does his own detective work culminating in engaging in combat with a BH. Yet again, a mission.

Episode 3 - One more time... Jedi sent on assignment. This time, specifically to take down the opponent (i.e. Grevious). MISSION!

Episode 5 - Boba Fett. Paid to hunt Han Solo, not Luke. It was Vader who wanted Luke so it was a tradeoff of servicies (could propose another game-based idea just on this).

Anyway, the point is, each faction is not even close to being that narrow. The reason SWG is like it is now is because the Jedi and BH professions are cookie cutter. In the movies, they simply aren't. So proposing a multiple-faction visibility system rather than just anti-Jedi fits the universe far more tightly than the current setup.

Same for Episode 2 - BH was hunting the Queen (then Senator), not the Jedi. Jedi protect yet again but then Obi-Wan does his own detective work culminating in engaging in combat with a BH. Yet again, a mission.

The idea of the empire funding bounty hunters to kill force sensitive creatures, who can hear the force and potiencially train themselves in the jedi ways and be a threat to the empire, is plausable.

The idea of jedi's having a terminal to hunt bounty hunters, or a shrine to tell them go kill blar blar blar doesnt fit in at all.

make shrines into cash machines? lol

or maybe the alliance should fund money then. cus killing bounty hunters would help insure the formation of the republic? hmm lol

And why would a bh be worried about getting visability?

as for ep 2 obi wan was not hunting jango fett, the intension was never to find him and kill him, only to capture and question.

Right so being a jedi, you get the lightsaber that you can make urself (not having to pay others to make).

Free char slot on same server.

Hopefully they will bring back the FRS too.

Thats not enough lol, you also want to take the only one thing that makes bounty hunter proffesion worth doing (i.e. making money from killing jedi) and place that in jedi too?

For the non-bh and non-jedi combantants, all they got is pvp no hunting terminals, no self crafting weps.

What is really needed ingame is content for all combatants, fixing proffesions, and FRS for jedi.

jedi arent bounty hunters, would make no sense at all if we became a bh and thats exactly what we would be if we took bounties.

If jedi versus bounty hunters are the theme seems the jedi population is missing jedi terminals to go hunt master bounty hunters. The bounty hunters would gain visibility by interacting with probe droids and the jedi they hunt. We should be able to meditate at shrines to gain our marks missions and locations. If your MBH mark is on another planet the shrine tells ya that, and so you go to that planet and to a shrine there to get an update on yur MBH mark. Maybe get 250k jedi xp and the mark losses 250k in credits with you gettting 125k of it and with the ability of the mark to go 10 mill in the hole. Be nice to make MBH fear going AFK eh? Would make the game a bit more fun and balanced. Who wouldn't have fun tracking down MBH and doing a kill upon one? Just an idea. I'm sure the Bh folk will flame this since they don't want to be afraid of playing.

Yeah, ok.... But

1 - you don't have the name of the jedi until you are at most 1000m from him
2 - you don't have seekers so you can't "track" them and you would only be able to find there location with shrines (or you will have a new "feel the ennemy" power that drains 500 force point everytime you update position)
3 - there is to many lifeforms on kashyyyk to be able to find them there
4 - both you and the BH have a TEF so the BH can attack first
5 - If the BH kills the jedi, he loose 500k xp, 250k credits from his money and half go to the BH (if the jedi doesn't have money, the next 250k credits he gets will automatically be lost)
6 - only available for "ready to go knight" jedis (all SP in jedi skills)

Then i'm OK to wait for you !

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this already, but it is totally illogical for Jedis to hunt Bounty Hunters. Whilst it might satisfy some rabid desire to exact revenge on someone who has killed you, it is so out of context with what Jedi is all about (even Dark Jedi) its not even funny.

I could give a crap about PvP but even I respect the fact that from a roleplaying perspective Jedi are a persecuted race. Light Jedi certainly wouldn't go out of their way to hunt other non-Jedi.

Have these people "watched" the movies? There are examples of Jedi being the hunters all over the place. Doesn't have to be "search and destroy" to make it "hunting." And hunting also doesn't always have to involve a bounty.I never said make Shrine missions worth money. I do agree that it would make no sense for a Jedi to grab a money mission. So get creative and create the equivalent of a prestige system that can be converted into certain kinds of Jedi exp or some similar system.

But for goodness sake, if anyone is going to generalize the classes, at least do it accurately. Watch these movies again and write down every example ofa Jedi doing some form of investigative or seeking work (regardless of whether or not the outcome is a kill). There is pleanty of justification for the system using the basis that this is still supposed to be a Star Wars related game.

And on a side note... as a BH... Bring it on!

Some people choose to make their only character crafters. So doing quests/PVP etc. is kind of hard unless you drop your crafter profession and grind to a combat profession.

Give me an alt, and I'd be all for being hunted, BTW.
