I finally dragged a crafting toon through to glowy status about 4 weeks ago. I was pleasantly surprised to find he had a free unlock - the first I've had on any toon. The system is still active, if you have the required masters. He had 5 master badges, and 3 of those must've been holoprofessions for him to get a free unlock.

Unless you actually did all 4 holos before publish 9, you will not get any credit at all. The 4 silents were 4 random profs and you had to get all 4 silent as well if you wanted all the free unlocks.

1 Holo prof - 0 unlocks
2 Holo prof - 0 unlocks
3 Holo prof - 1 unlock
4 Holo prof -2 unlocks
5 Holo prof -3 unlocks
6 Holo prof -4 unlocks
7 Holo prof -5 unlocks
8 Holo prof -6 unlocks

The OP problem is going to be how to prove you got those profs before Pub 9. Additionally if you were a really early player, there was a bug at some point in 2003 that basically cancelled some of the profs you had done, but this was before the holocron system I believe.

You didn't have to pop a new silent holo pr profession, after you got you silent holo you just kept mastering, a friend of mine did 18 professions after the 4th silent holo, he got 4 free unlocks

You didn't have to pop a new silent holo pr profession, after you got you silent holo you just kept mastering, a friend of mine did 18 professions after the silent holo (4th), he got 4 free unlocks

It depends on how many holocrons you mastered. I mastered 2 of them and got no credits at the village. Was need 3+ to get credits, up to 8 holocrons (4 of them were silent) to have 6 free unlocks. This way some guys went jedi without the fs grinding at all.

I had 11 professions mastered and got 0 free unlocks when I came back in december but i did the FS grind anyway and now it doesn't matter

it is not the number of professions mastered, it is the number of 'secret holo' professions mastered. so even if you did 10 or 12 or 14 professions....you may not have unlocked your own special ones (unless you used the holocrons as a guide..in which case you would unlock 4 for sure and then wing it for the others.

originally, it took 5 professions. the devs secretly increased the number as more and more jedi unlocked to 8.

hope you get what you deserve. that seems only right.

Talk to Paemos. If you have N free unlocks, you completed N+2 holoprofessions.
