I agree with MsNil. How about a title like the one in the FS forum, like this:
"The *** READ ME FIRST *** Thread (FAQ's, Guides, Issues Focus)"
You can use the first of yourreserved posts to explain what this thread is for, to give advice on good forum manners and decorum, and to include links to the current best FAQ posts that answer the most questions a new Jedi would have.
You can use the second post that you reserved for links to all the excellent in-depth and advanced guides out there....guides to food, to saber crafting, to padawan grinding, to PVP, toavoiding visibility, to reference posts, to template guides, etc..
You can use the third post for links to various focus threads...on robes, on the FRS, on the role of Jedi in the GCW, on BH / Jedi relationship, on current bugs, etc.
As you are already doing, thename of the original author should be provided next to the link, to give them duecredit and provide an incentive for people to keep writing good guides. Maybeif you highlight the name a little more and also use the in-game name as well as the forum name, you could do this even better to make authors happier and more proud of their work. For example, the entries in your lists could look like this:Jedi Template Guide by Dhraax Wynters of Flurry (SWGHottie)
Maybe also GarVa can help to make this post become the very first sticky in the list of stickies?
If you only do one thing as correspondent, and that is to go through these forums and find all the excellent posts that have been posted at one time or other and link them in an organized and easy to find way, you will have madeenough of atangible contribution to the profession to be remembered as an outstanding correspondent. SonGouki tried to do something like this with his "New Jedi Archives" post, but right now our stickies are a mess, so this work was never really finished.
Just think of the reduction in the endless Jedi forum spam that you would achieveif you can turnthisthread intothe "portal" for all forumnewcomersto learn everything there is to know about Jedi, before they post to aska question that has been answered 1,000 times already.

Please contact MisNil for her collection of "handbook" links, they're of quite useful info.

Definitely
This thread has a lot of potential if more high quality posts are linked in here....ifmembers of the communitycan help with nominating useful posts for inclusion in one of the relevant sections above (i.e. copy paste the link from your browser address bar), I am sure it will make Baciacca's life a lot easier.

Nice work Baciacca. Although I find it valuable to have a FAQ (like mine) visible as a front page sticky, I understand your reasoning for wanting to "reduce the clutter".
MsNil is correct, I intend to keep the FAQ up to date, and will continue to update the title using the same format I have used previously. You can either keep this topic updated with my current FAQ title, or at least have it describe the current publish like it already does. ![]()
Btw, I was away on vacation for a week, but now that I'm back I'll go through the FAQ and make any updated as required.
