Ya but I don't like having to run around houses to get them close enough to me

I still haven't gotten in-game since Pub 24...but I look forward to trying out my hand vs.the new snares. My template has been more or less built to fight BH's of all shapes and sizes. Not guaranteeing I'll kill them all but it'll be a good fight.
You might be surprised how quickly you pick up where you left off, so to speak.....reading the hysteria in the fourms you would think it was impossible....it is not.

ya and what are your sabers stats? 700 max dmg? if it is, why would you even post this... and /agree with the person above me
I saw a jedi with a 545 max damage saber win as well, he was also MDEF. It can be done guys. Have you tried it? If you were winning before you will win now. If you sucked before you will suck now.
i know it can be done, and i have killed bhers before, but as a menh, mls, 4040 heal, i cant take damage like someone with any defender. yes, it was my choice and i knew the consequences, bla bla bla.... it doesnt change the fact that if you get a good bh, you might not ever be able to hit him.
AGREED. You will NEVER hit a good bh that has a snare and a root.
The fight will start the second he gets there, no need to wair or put on armor he needs the distance.
Opening shot, kd or snare.
Pound away from out of range.
-SNARE-
Hit with snare
If it misses hit with root.
KD.
Snare.
Repeat until the jedi is dead.
I can't even get within 40 m of a good bh now, and I have FR1.
Alternative method. Hire a SL and 1-3 shot kill any and all jedi.

Ohh don't get mewrong not saying things are good, only reason I've done so well against BH's even after the publish has been because of MDef. They need to adress the stacking issue in a manner that allows for only the fastest attack speed, fastest movement speed to only work (who cares if there's multiple icons, just code it so only the best of the ones apply takes effect). And for debuffs make it so it doesn't over write the beneficial buffs then take effect, code it so it takes your current movement speed and then apply snare to that. I know in EQ you could have 3 or 4 movement speed buffs applied and only the fastest one would be your movement speed.

I'm MDEF as well, maybe that is part of the secret sauce but the truth is that I was snared most of the time before pub 24 when facing MBH MCM . The only thing taken away is my force run to close the distance, it's not a show stopper, I still use suppression etc. maybe I should expend the energy and start posting pics of dead BHs after pub 24 (like I did Jedi , in my sig , when it was real hard to kill jedi) . Maybe i have an edge being an MBH MCM myself....

I honestly don't like FOTMs and this making MDEF a FOTM for BH encountersAND PVE upsets me because not only are most Post-CU Jedi using FOTMs but a change like this encourages this

You have an edge over many out there simply because you are experienced and MDef is a great tree for defending against a BH. Template will only take you so far then exeperience carries you the rest, how well you know and playyour template, the BH's templates, how to use terrain and such to your advantage ect ect...

The funny thing is...I always train by dueling without foods. Most of my BH kills have come without foods/spices/buffs. I made it a point to learn to fight with a disadvantage. I even practice fighting when I'm out of force. But naturally I carry all the essentials on me incase the fight needs to be taken up to the next level.
My question to all the Jedi who are getting beaten...are you fighting on their terms or on your own? If we can't beat the system...we have to find the rules that will aid us. I can predict I'll be using LOS, buildings, terrain, etc. to keep the BH within 32m. Not saying that this is the way Jedi should be...but if you own a Jedi, you SHOULD be an advanced player...or so the game would have us believe. Time to start developing a bag of tricks and use them.

I think that what MDEF does, is it allows you to make a few mistakes and still win. If you have time to catch your breath, eat foods and concentrate .....you can win. MDEF allows the few extra moments but the truth is thatI could have won the encounter with another template. The one thing I needed more than MDEF was suppression, I will openly admit that without that i would have had some difficulty winning . However we need more jedi to go out and post their success before throwing in the towel!

Yes the reason I picked up force run was to catch up and beat the living day-lights out of someone I.E. a BH and not have it completely negated by one move the devs decided to super-turbo charge

OK point taken, now get in game and kill the firtst BH that comes for you, take it out on him, if you were winning before you will win now...I guarantee it.

I personally would like to see more "balance" brought to the game tho. Since MDef got the AI snare...I'd like to see armors with 7000+ ratings gain more hinderance...or possibly rifles getting more hinderance to balance their damage. It would make sense right? If you're gonna be a tank or carry a friggin cannon...you shouldn't be able to move like a hummingbird. It'll make gameplay more interesting I think.

Use suppresion, if you dont have it, then that would be a template choice. You can win , if you try.
Another strategy to try would be if you are ina populated are i.e a starport or a city , get inside a building it is much easier to get them within range indoors.
