It's only fair. The additional slot was meant to allow players to play without "forced" PVP--they're taking the forced PVP completely out of the game. You should be thrilled. Besides, they're not taking your second character away--whine when they take from you and whine when they give something to others. It's not like any of you did such a great favor to humanity by grinding out a Jedi that it's that big of a deal really.

OMG thats **edit**ing it! Now I can feel the hours I grinded jedi being a total waste of time. Why the hell did I buy this game 1½ year ago and grinded jedi when I can get the exact same thing now in only 2 weeks...

No. The second char slot was designed as a REWARD for completing your Jedi. It served the purpose of letting you not grind Jedi and do something else. Ultimately it was a reward however.
You know I always remember MBHs and everyone else posting about how having a second char slot on the same galaxy was reward enough. Now we dont even have that. Exactly WHAT is the incentive for veteran Jedi to play this game any longer? Because I get a lame robe? Because I get a lame crystal? I have SERIOUS doubts as to the effect this robe/crystal will really have. If we're all supposed to be equal in combat, and there are no more alpha classes, there is no way these robes/crystals will make much of a difference, otherwise the game would be unbalanced again, vet Jedi would be more powerful.
"Dont bash the game before you've tried it! You dont know how the game is going to be." --Yes that's exactly my point. In the 2+years I've been playing this game, they've already made two major changes that have turned this game into something completely different. Just when I get used to something or enjoy something about this game.......it's either nerfed/gone/or compeletely turned upside down.
I'm not interested in re-learning the same game again. I loved playing SWG, but I'm just fed up. It's just not worth it any more.

Um, you don't lose your second slot. I still fail to see the problem.
By the way, I lose an entire profession with the NGE. Why should Jedi be the only ones who get compensated for their time?

I ama veteran. I came into the game only a few weeks after launch. I seen alot of my friends go for Jedi. I did the holocrons but i decided to stick with my last profession which was bh. I figured that instead of doing the constant grind I would look out for my friends. When they introduced the village quests I still stayed a bounty hunter, since i was enjoying it so much. I knew that the character slot was there. I just never went for it. Instead I bought alternate accounts.
I dont regret doing anything that I have done in the past two years. And i dont regret not going for jedi. However, in the two years i have mastered several professions, watched out for my friends, dragged them away from grinding to just have fun every once in a while, supported them with the professions i chose (bh to see if they were on terminals, tailor for clothes, entertainer for the buffs, rifleman for hunting krayts, and the last being squad leader). I never went fotm either. I simply chose to do other things to help the jedi i knew. With the NGE changes I knew i lost my opportunity to ever get another character slot. In some ways that hurt. Because the people that went for jedi are being rewarded for THEIR time, yet i felt i was being penalized for NOT going for Jedi.
Yet now with the introduction of the new character slots for everyone I feel that my time is being rewarded. I guess my question is.. why is YOUR time so much more valuable than my own? I spent just as much time online as you have .. possibly more. With professions being locked in .. they had to do something. You jedi .. you are really coming accross as the game should be all about you. And its not.
If you look at it .. i spent real money getting my characters. You simply got your extra slot by fighting stuff and doing pvp. Something that if jedi hadnt been there you probably would have done anyway. Like i said .. i dont regret doing it.. and if they hadnt introduced the extra slots I would still be in a better position than most. For the people with only one account and unable to get a second one for whatever reason, and losing their only ingame chance, this is a good thing. So why not consider that before you complain of how much you are getting ripped off.

I agree, and I lost 2 professions, Pistoleer and Creature Handler. And other have lost professions, at least the jedi keep theirs. I guess people were correct, most jedi are spoiled children. Sad.
