Wait a minute. What if you did that. Move Channel to Novice and then replace the skill that was at xxx2 with something like channel, except you could pull regen force from creatures or something like that instead of yourself.

Channel and Meditate are understandably boxes that require achievement. If anything could be changed (I cringe when i say this, but I'm trying to look at it from all angles), I would put a basic Channel in the novice box, Meditate as a level 2 skill, then advanced Channel in Tier 4. It would sort of match the 4XXX Healer tree, where Channel would be similar to heal, and Meditate would be similar to Infusion, except on the force bar instead of the health bar. The Tier4 Channel would be an advanced skill that improves the effectiveness of channel while reducing the HAM cost. But maybe that is something that would be better as a master level skill.

Interesting topic for debate, despite being completely hypothetical.

i likes the way you thinks...

i love having Channel. but there is 2 things, 1) no improved version(well maybe battle med. is). 2) needs to restore just a bit more force for the costs it takes.

OR

somethink that might work like LD maybe. hit the button...loose all action and mind and health for total force regen. (HAVE to be at master enhancer though) just a thought.

Channel is misused and misunderstood. For PvE it has a purpose, however, I choose not to use channel much as it has a cost to HAM in general. I prefer to meditate and regenerate without any cost to HAM. Also, turn off any macros that use force as you will regenerate force and ham quicker. To check this afetr a heavy spin session pull up ctrl-c and watch your states. Channel is good for early on in fights after that learn to use your skills at reduced cost. Also some foods help with regeneration, eat them.

And I would like an additional 10 or even 5 Lightsaber block in Novice Lightsaber. Skill points, schmill points, I just want it.

Dreaming is for free...

Altogether though, I would rather SOE spend some time polishing the other 30+ professions out there, and then they can make some meaningful changes to Jedi to fit them into the system wherever they belong knowing what the rest of the professions are and will be like.

Getting these changes either nerf us early (wasn't Jedi pre-balanced for the CU, at one point :smileysurprised or put us over the barrel by abilities granted to other professions later.

We could ask the developers to move all the really good stuff to novice boxes.

That way there would be absolutely no need to be creative.

Channel is invaluable to a low level padawan. You don't have meditate early on and you aren't doing anything speical you are just swinging your saber or using your powers against every creature in sight. Channel allows you to continue fighting after you would have had to stop and rest for 20 minutes. With Powerboost, and a health crystal I can channel for a long time and still maintain decent health because of the rate at which the regen happens to HAM vs Force.

At higher levels you are undoubtedly correct but with a regen in the low teens you don't have a lot of choices.

can i have a fully effective innate jedi armor as i get initiate?it would rock,as i would not need to spend some sp in def....i would also need fr,cloak and root in novice ehn to escape from bh, so pls move them to novice boxes...moreover, i don't have enough skillpoint to craft a 4th generation saber as i don't have saber tree in my template...shouldn'tcrafting a saberbe an innate jedi ability? Pls let newborn paddies to craft a 4th lvl generation saber as they unlock...moreover...why does not the old man give us 4 premium pearls as a reward?

Currently once you are out of the Padawan trials you may try crafting whatever generation or style of Lightsaber you like. You have a "fully effective" innate Jedi armor rating of 20 just out of the Padawan trials, which comes up to 30 with the novice defender box. Perhaps not a great armor rating but better than a poke in the eye.

if you look back through jedi forums a few months ago MsNIL suggested moving meditate/channel/shield to the force proggression tree and giving the xxxX line some buffs instead, the idea went down fairly well i think

Not channel, but meditate should be moved to novice, and then have an advanced Meditate at the master box
