Vis is what it is. Group vis was removed, which made grinding Jedi fun, and that's a good thing. It's not going to change again, so learn to manage it. There are a LOT more things in this profession and this game that require attention long before the visibility system.
If you get vis, and a BH comes and kills you, he has set you back an hour or so of time in which you must go have fun hunting with your friends. Something you would likely do anyways. To top it off he has reset your vis counter for you. Sounds like a fair trade to me. If you can't get the xp back in an hour, then a network of grind buddies takes time to develop but the dividends are immense.
You are a Jedi. You have chosen and worked towards playing in a more complex system than everyone else. You must watch your radar, your overhead. You must be situationally aware. You must be ready, your foods and spices and macros and strategy close at hand. You cannot log out "just anywhere", you cannot go afk "just anywhere". There are additional rulesets for you to follow, and this is just one of them, a small one at that. Take pride in the fact that you can do that effectively and efficiently.

bikes & corpses give vis, yea, that's working as intended.

the whole jedi / vis / bh system is a broken design. it needs to be removed

would jedi stop complaining about vis if this where to happen

only get vis when you duel someone because with npcs or people coming out and purposely giving you vis is not your fault

no, think that its a terrible idea and will only lead to jedi becoming even weaker than it already is - weaker as in the inability of people to play their characters effectively and SOE nerfing jedi further.

so let me repeat : NO, terrible idea.

Oh, you mean they could make us weaker? Nah, they'd have to work to do that..

Probably not as intended no. But very easily managed and certainly not worth the amount of effort you seem to want tospend in complaining about it.

The SWG Forums. You will never find a more wretched hive of
catassery and buttmonkeyism. We must be cautious.

man, all i know is that whoever told you that rumor about bikes and corpses and pets giving vis has made a mockery out of a lot of people.

seriously, i don't know who on the forums supposedly 'tested' these items as causes of visibility, but their methods must have sucked if they came back with the result that they cause vis.

I unlocked back in December '04 and i've taken a couple month breaks here and there between January '04 and July '05, but I've been playing pretty much every day since the beginning of July. I hunt with my BARC next to me each and every day. when kunga's are near my lair, i pull out the ALR, kill them and then leave their bodies so no more spawn right away.I group with CH's each and every day, usually with a full8 person group, so their pets are out around us ungrouped the whole time.

I have 2 boxes and 1 master box to finish my template(was at 0404 LS at the beginning of July) and have NEVER seen a BH.

please quit propagating these rumors unless you test them yourself and actually control the variables properly. whoever supposedly tested this BS probably had vis from some other source and BH's had just not come for them yet.

why is now not the time to change a broken system? because you had to deal with it?

the fact is, the system of jedi vis / bh hunting jed is broken. it was a flawed design that never should have been pushed into the game, and the sooner it's changed, the sooner this game will get better all around. the dev's can then concentrate on real issue, not who found the new pvp fotm

why is it all the old old players of the game are so soft?? did you guys all ebay? well I don't like you trying to push your no pvp idea's on me and all the rest of the SWGer's that bought the game because of forced pvp and tefs and other types of pvp. If you don't like pvp I'm sure the new expansion and rage and all the new expansions to come will be a non-pvpish setup. Frankly it looks like SOE has gone soft also

i have, every time i see someone post it and feel the urge to type a response. sometimes i just don't feel like it. it's howi grind. i do it every day. no bh's in 3+ months, hence, no vis caused. i'm essentially an unknown on my server (so no one is avoiding me for a pvp reputation). i'm not part of a powerful guild. i don't run around buffed or with a group. hell,i log out in the MO 99% of the time.

if someone wants to do a proper test, they'd have to completely control all variables, use a brand new unlocked padawan, whom has been monitored at all times to ensurethat no incidental vis has been caused. you would have to do the test once for each specific variable, i.e., one brand new padawan for vehicles, one for pets, one for corpses, etc. if thatis not thetesting procedure followed, then the results are tainted.
