Thread: Jedi New Code...?

1. The game forces them to pvp by the player bounty system, which means they must get as powerful as they possibly can (to the limits that have been given to them) in order to just survive against an army of others that are just looking to kill them for whatever personal reasons they choose
I have a friend who is a lvl 80 Jedi : I'm still waiting for her to be hunted by a Jedi... don't want to PvP ? don't gain visibility.. it's possible, I know of many Jedis who manage to play in every parts of the game without gaining visibility.
2. Jedi are limited from vast amountsof gamecontent without suffering said bounty system listed above. I don't see the ability to promote acts of kindness and help others when you're at constant risk of being shot down by others, nowwithout much chance of survival. Some of these players arethe kind of players you seem to generalize the jedi as being in your post.
See my precedent answer : you can play a Jedi everywhere in the game and don't gain visibility.
3. Jedi are supposed to be peace ambassadors, yet it's insisted they play part in the Galactic Civil War which involves nothing short of taking sides and killing others that oppose.
You choose to play a part in the GCW : you can stay apart if you want.
(and it's funnier for non Jedis when they're not ganked by 8 Jedis who wait near the recruiter for a noob who plans to try the Spec Forces).
There are no Jedi, there are only Padawans....
There are no Dark Jedi or Sith, there are only hopefuls....
Here's the code I try to conduct myself by as a Sith wannabe:
There is no peace, there is anger.
There is no fear, there is power.
There is no death, there is immortality.
There is no weakness, there is the Dark Side. I am the Heart of Darkness.
I know no fear, but rather I instil it in my enemies. I am the destroyer of worlds.
I know the power of the Dark Side. I am the fire of hate.
All the Universe bows before me, I pledge myself to the Darkness.
For I have found true life, in the death of the light.

I say still good point mr sneath...
Now how does the game affect all this you think?
I really try to help new players, I try to defend people that ask for it during missions.
But whats the reward of acting like a true Jedi??
The reward is simple.. You will get killed by a 12 year old MBH that uses a droid exploit.
Well said my brother!

Thx you for adding the code of the dark side,
Question: have they removed dark jedi from character titles? There does sea to be none around, or i have not notice their titles anymore...?
I'm please to hear that there are players out there who do their best at playing jedi's (light and dark) to the best they can within the game limits. Good work to all of you who are doing this.

/thx

Well, with no FRS the only Dark Jedi Knights would be pre-CU with left over titles.. so not really sure. I do hope something is done about the elusive FRS. The 2 earlier FRS' didn't quite cut it and were way too easy to exploit. Let's see if they can get their act together... they've had at least 6 months so far. (And NO the FRS is not in ToOW that was just a Beta thing left over from old code)

While I would agree with what the "jedi code" should be. I also believe that any person can choose to play their account with any type of personality they choose. this also doesn't really apply to those of us who are imperial. While, as a dark jedi, I do not believe that gives us the leeway to act anyway we choose. I do believe that deceipt, trickery and other aspects of ill repute are part of what we do. I have never ranted against a bh. Should they only attack me in face to face combat. Does he/she have to wear a mbh tag in order to fight me with honor? IMO NO.
Also, there is "etiquette" that should be part of the game. Regardless of whether you are a jedi or not. In that case where you mentioned the jedi trying to fight the noob. That doesn't only apply to jedi, but ALL combat profs. While I do wonder what kind of a world (server playworld)would be like if the jedi had a code that was observed according to our factions, I don't feel that anyone has a right to tell anyone else how to play their toon. Especially if it does not violate the TOS.
I play a dark jedi that believes so deeply in the virtues of the darkside, that he uses dark jedi judgements to achieve harmony in the galaxy. I might attack a pirate because their actions are determined to be illegal. I attack rebels because they are criminals (rp). However, I always remember that there are people behind the controls as I am and there is no reason for me to make their experience terrible. So if you pwn someone once, you tell them, this is a warzone. If you come back, it's on! But you don't own them till they aren't having fun. Only those who come sf are game. If you want out, then you go on leave. Simple. If a person doesn't want to play, leave them alone. If they don't know any better, teach them. That's the reason I became an imperial in the first place. Simply because some rebs treated me bad as a noob and some imperials showed me some love
Not that all rebs are mean spirited. But it was my unique experience that shaped my gameplay today. Matter of factly, I thoroughly intended to be reb when I signed up.lol Oh well!
