welll he is a jedi knight afterall (npc) and most of us are padawans so i could work but maybe when the frs comes out Knights will have way more power then paddies. I honestly think that the jedi power is of course weaknow but most of are padawan levels so when the frs comes out- WATCH OUT. atleast thats what i hope for. On killing a DJK just try a master and see what happens lol. It is ridiculous but thats how it goes. I guess u need a group for everything hard now.

Take a friend i say. If you cannot defeat something alone there is no shame in asking a PA friend or buddy to come aid you is there?

On a separate note, is it really correct that a Jedi Padawan defeats a Dark Jedi Knight in battle? Really he should and did wipe the floor with you.

I know that I can ask a PA friend, im just sharing with you what happend to me. I use to hunt dark jedi knights level 94 alone, now I cant.

We should not flater ourselves by assuming that SOE actually nerfs stuff cause we are complaining. That implies that they are listening to us and that is not the case.

Everything that SOE does, is done with a fixed contract price mentality, and corporate profit is the highest priority.

Nerfs have to deal with reduced overhead. This is more obvious with some crafting professions and the general idea is to reduce overhead by simplification (AKA- Down-sizing). Less complicated game, less peeps to run it. More it is like our other games, less time it should take those fewer peeps. Etc.

We see things like the DJK because it takes creative effort to add valuable content. You think, like, how hard could it be to make it so that it is lvl 80 and actually uses it's skills to try an defeat you. Or how about BHs taking a PC mission and instead they get a NPC DJK or other. Luck of the draw kind of thing. The reason is cause it takes real creative thinking.

This would be real content and my thought is that SOE, due to lost subscriptions, is in some kind of minimization phase (AKA- Down-sizing).

What ever it is, we all know how to fix it, and only the Devs can, if only their own leadership would let them. And when I say leadership, I mean LA and SOE management.

Lets hope its that way!

, but i bet its more like youll need a full group of 8 persons for every bedbug crawling arround soon, remember, this game is becoming Everquest II™, and thats a main aspect why EQ2 sucks so hard.

Like already mentioned,95% of theNPC should be soloable at a certain point (full templated jedi player), those stronger npc just with a comparable rank (e.g. Master Player Jedi against MasterNPC Jedi) Things like the Ackley or Krayts or anything of that dimension should be dedicated to player groups, but single NPC's should always be soloable, a tough fight though!

This is one of the many, many problems that came about with the CU. The issue is the Combat Multiplier. If a creature is above your level it hits at for geometrically more damage every level it is above you even though this is not very realistic at all. When the CU first came out, DJKs were hitting me for about 14,000 damage per hit. The only way to survive was to use Avoid Incap. Then they nerfed AI. Twice.

They actually nerfed AI three times. First the increase of force cost from 600 to 1000. Then they added the snare. And to make it even more useless all the agro immediately goes away when you activate AI as if you're dead.

the second poster is half right....who hunts djk and dkm's...yeah we do because we have too. bh and other proffesions dont really need to hunt these upper level creatures because their livlihoods can bebought on the bazaars. this boost is nothing more that soe's way of making our lives more miserable to get you to quit the game. the bh were originally put in to control jedi population and it obviously didnt work....double xp weeks, respecs were all complete failures because it negated any chance of population control, and now we are paying the price for soe's failures in this department. on top of that, even the cl 70's and above are getting all the endless snares, states, and shots they want....even though they cant fix our states. we will of course be the last to fix because we are the first ones they want to leave the game.

Here we go, finally someone around here who understands what is going on. The decisions that the developers make are not based on customer feedback or desires, rather they are made on what is more efficient and saves SOE money. Bugs are not fixed because they are too difficult for the programmers to solve and this subtracts from the overall profitablility of the game. Project managers are not going to have their team work hundreds of hours to fix a bug when they know that most of the jedi account-holders will keep paying their monthly fee in some desperate hope of an FRS or something similar. They will also be working on projects like expansions that add value to the game. So while most of you seem sick with the way the game has evolved, you then shell out another $30 in addition to your monthly subscription fee.

Which looks better to SOE accountants ?

500 man-hours to fix modified speed on weapons while retaining no new income....
or
500 man-hours to code a new cave on a new planet while grabbing $30 on exisiting accounts....
