I agree and disagree with ya here bro. Let me explain. I disagree that powers should "compliment" sabers. By DESIGN, both are offensive and thus, should be contrary template offensive template choices, much like defense either being Enhancer or Defender. With that being said, I think powers (no duh, right?) should be a viable alternative to sabers IF..if... they create some sort of amulet that would require LS crystals to "activate" it's power. However, if this is not to be, then yes, let sabers out-damage powers BUT remove the accursed zip bars and self root. I have no problem with the current system which allows sabers to outspeed and outdamage powers but why on Earth can a DJK use lightining while Force Running and "I" have to wait for a zip bar warm-up AND be self-rooted for 7 seconds? That's just silly.
Powers as it stands, is WEAK WEAK WEAK. You saw me and Jefch have a "powers only" battle the other night. I being MPOwers and he powers 3/0/0/0. Both of us with comparable healing and the result was only SLIGHTLY in my favor. Compare a MLS vs. a LS 3/0/0/0 and it would be WAY one-sided. So all said, powers need some love. If powers requires no crystals to "boost" it, then yes, I TOTALLY agree that it should be subordinate to sabers in both speed and damage. But I am sure we both can agree, that powers, in it's current incarnation, is damn near placebic it anything PvP, as a valid offensive template.

Didn't believe it, tested it, it came to be true. Most of you probably know this and my assumption is the developers are attempting to halt the dabblers between Jedi skills vs. Non-jedi skills. Just want to point out this lack of communication by the developers is unacceptable.
This doesn't affect the lightsaber based jedi out there too much, but for us Power wielding jedi it hurt.
- Remove the zip bar from ALL lightning attacks
- Add in a single KD/intimidate skill for us to use.
- Fix "force strikes" damage output + remove the zip bar.
Fix these 3 simple things and you will see alot of happy force wielding Jedi.

You are slightly misguided here Magneto my friend. Yes choke does bypass any armor the BH may have, but a 6 tic choke @ 210 ea tic, totals 1260 damage. 1260 damage, can easily be healed with one shot by the new BH/CM types. So here we aree with Master Powers "most powerful" attack, which has a LONG cool down at 30 seconds, can at best, be applied twice per minute with a significant force cost and simply healed away at will, by a BH/CM, rendering it TOTALLY ineffective. Counter that with Master Sabers (or even Sabers 0/4/0/0) with Improved Power attack, which can be executed three times as often per minute. With an average post CU saber of 600 max dmg, this will do (per minute) just about 4k damage (6 successfull attacks @ 666 pts per attack)and this doesn't even take into account Saber Armor Break and KD, which cam potentially boost Improved Power Attack to landing for 1400+ PER HIT, if they are broken and KD'd. Summary? A Choke will do 2520 damage per minute, Improved Power Attack 4000 damage. Furthemore, the Choke is a DOT and although unnerving, isn't immediate or instant nor overwhelming, taking a full 10 seconds to deliver 1260 damage. Land a few Improved power attacks sequentially, and you've hurt the BH for nearly 2k of damage in under 20 seconds. I am both MLS and MPowers. If it is overwhelming damage I seek to prosecute in short order, it will be by sabers NOT by powers.

Better yet, if they're a doc, just throw ona HoT and it completely counteracts the jedi attack.

There is just one problem here; powers is not meant to be a damage dealing profession, it is about state and opponent altering and crowd control.If you were too cheap to dish out for a decent saber then that is your problem, but i don't see lightsabers getting cloak, area intimidate, area knockdown, ranged dot, buff breaking and more.
If you want versitility, stay as a powers user but accept the fact you wont be en par with a MLS for damage. If you want maximum damage output, get a bloody saber for pete's sake instead of whigning that you can't enough damage done.
