Yes your right, a little reward we at least deserve... not that great one... but at least something... I really dont care about New Jedi, they will be noobs, and I will be the Master, no joke... they wont be able to catch up with me, not all...
Completely missed the point...
As for the original poster, agreed. The time for elitism and "my character is better than yours" is over. Welcome to "My character is equal to yours, but unique to me."
Throw away your "I deserve more because I did XXXXX." Everyone deserves equally balanced characters now, according to the game design. If you can't handle that, may as well unsub now.

I tell you, jedi had a much better reward for those two years... your reward for getting jedi back in pre-9 was...

Wait for it
HAVING JEDI!!!
Shock horror!
i don't know.. probably because a armorsmith has amachine making all of his componets and armor, and the machine pulling out resouces, and he really does jack and shi't.. but you know.. thats just a guess.

What you don't understand is that Jedi was already toast at publish 9, it was only a matter of time before everyone got it. Old Jedi divide on time spent as a Jedi because so many people are Jedi now already that it doesn't matter what we get at NGE if all Jedi get the same thing.
Not trying to belittle newer Jedi. I understand your frustrations at Jedi being made accessible to everyone, but what you have to understand from the pre pub 9 perspective is that Jedi has been becoming more accessible all the time anyways. This was just the next step in a long line of nerfs and changes aimed at making Jedi less special.
This is why I HATE liberalism. No incentive to reach for the sky. Someone else will and you will benefit just as much as they do.

What pisses me off is that after playing this game since Beta 2, killing more mobs than half the jedi out there, and playing the game with several different professions.I get nothing becauseI chose not to play a class that didn't exist in this time period anyway.

I completely disagree. If you "earned" your jedi, then I have much more respect for you, as opposed to a respec jedi thatexploited double xp and respecs to finish their template. Imagine busting your balls for 2years to reach a certain level and then your peers are given the same rewards as you have. Don't even try to say that wouldnt piss you off.

I agree. This is like saying every WS deserves uber resources because they play the same game. Not true. The ones that work hard to look for the best stuff are the ones that deserve to have the best resources and craft the best weapons. If there's no difference between someone who puts effort into the game and someone who logs on and gets the same thing, what's the point of playing the game or trying to do anything in game? Why not just sit back and whine till it gets handed to you?
Again, point missed...This is not entitlement or liberalism. Its a change in how the game sets players apart. Characters skills are now more or less equal, and you now win based on your TWITCH SKILL, not because you killed 100k gurks and ground out 20 more professions than the other guy. Wanna "reach for the sky" in the new system? Well, the way to do it now is to get real good at pointing and clicking in real-time 3rd person combat, as opposed to spinning lairs.
As for the WS analogy, well, as I understand it, thats not how it will be. The resource system is still the same as it was. The stats and bonuses on crafted items are obviously changing to match the new system, but I've seen nothing to indicate that gear & resources will all be uniform.
Fern, my point is not that I'm inherently entitled to be more powerful than other players. I never really cared about that. I just think recognition for past achievements (like badges) is a good thing. If I had my way, all current Jedi would get the same rewards at NGE, I'd just like to see titles based on when you unlocked.
Why does this even matter to me you ask? When I unlocked Jedi pre 9 it was very rare and very special to me. Now it has become so common there's almost no point to me in being one any more. I have nothing left to hold on to of the times when it was rare. Simply a title in recognition would suffice for me.
Players who argue none should be inherently more powerful or have more abilities than another are probably right. But I still believe it is good to recognize players on certain accomplishments, and anyone who argues against special recognition argues against the point of putting effort into the game.

I am a day one vet and a full template Jedi (MLS/MDEF) and I will gladly welcome anyone into the profession with me. New Jedi, respec'd Jedi (I can't belive I just typed 'respec'd Jedi'), NGE Jedi, eBay Jedi, etc.
Sure I wish that I would get somethingmorefor the 450 million XP that I invested in my character but thathas nothing to do with having otherpeople become Jedi as well. I really hope that this change does unite our profession. See you all on the other side!

None of us deserve any kind of reward. SWG is effectively going to be a new game.
Yay. We spent time playing a game. Big deal. Stupid crap like this is divisive and inane.

nice 180 there
The blue glowie, elder title, and elder buff things aren't enough for you?
Personally, I think the glowie & elder title are perfect ways to recognize past achievements without unbalancing the game going forward. I'm actually surprised/confused about the elder buffs (better robe/saber/etc). It doesn't really make sense, given the whole premise of the new system.

You might be able to say that somewhat of an Architect (Which I am) but not of any of the Armorsmiths or Weaponsmiths or DE's hell most of the crafting professions deserve what they get as they work hard for thier status. Unless your one of the crappy crafters but those are about as common as the CH's in all the servers.
