Thread: Trials of Obi-Wan/Future Expansions: I am chosen... need your help to represent. (Time Sensitive)

Other than obvious things like new robes, new saber schematics and bug fixes I'd love to see more across the board changes that help everyone not just jedi. A shift from grind based xp to quest based xp - grind based xp should be a filler activity for between quests not the staple diet of most players. We need a PVP planet like Hoth with player piloted vehicles (Snowspeeders, AT-AT, AT-ST etc) manned turrets and the like. More like Battlefront than EQ.
i totally agree i play both swg and Guild Wars and let me just say i love how guild wars xp system is you gain more xp from doing quests rather than sitting out there and killing monsters, it makes grinding more exciting and i wish swg was like this
this is not a general feedback thread. this is a focus thread related to content in the new expansion from a jedi prospective.

Uhm, did you actually read Tigg's post? They want to find out about the new expansion, and "what we want to play in the future"
I want to play a balanced, bug free SWG, and my ideas are a step in that direction.
- How about granting a schematic to Tailors for making craftable Jedi Robes with some added color schematics?
- Maybe have some slots for CA's and (as another poster mentioned) place the +250 Force and + Regen from the current robe to the inherent abilities of say the brand new padawan.
- Make it so Jedi can wear Tailor Made boots and belts with their Robes
- You would think that by the time you make Jedi you could get away from the "Cookie Cutter" looking Toons

What I want to look at is some content specifically related to Jedi - and Light/Dark. So do you have an idea you have been wanting to share for loot, quest rewards or story lines from your favorite SW book, video game, or movie?
What about this has anything to do with Tiggs post. Maybe you could respond to Tiggs.
For Trials:
5th Generation Lightsaber certfor Master Sabers
Healer needs to be fixed to be more viable
Pearl/Crystal Drops and tunes fixed
FRS needs to be turned back on
For Future:
More Planets like the original ones
GCW stuff needs fixing. Need to make itmore fun/rewardingto participate. Need Capital Ships
Smuggler needs its revamp. Squad Leader too..
Make droids useful. Add Droidekas, Super Battle Droids etc somehow even if it is involves a droid handler prof.
I would like to suggest quests that can be completed by Jedi at different levels that don't cause vis resulting in being listed on the BH terminals to become their content. I am almost full temp (only about 6 mil xp away), but I have no desire to end up on the BH terms so therefore abstain from participating in any quests that would cause me to use force powers in front of an NPC.
I run focus groups such as these for a living (SOE is getting ripped off by Nielsen btw, overpriced company, bleh, lol).
Here's what you can expect...
You'll go into the nice offices of Nielsen. They will sign you in. You will sit in a waiting room with the rest of the respondents and they should have some food and beverage for you (I am assuming these groups are around 6-8pm, as are most non-business groups).
Depending on how they're conducting their research, it's likely that there are 12-14 slots open for each focus group. I would wager only 10-12 will go in. So yes, it's possible you will get paid for the group and sent home. One way to ensure you will not make it into the focus group is to be opinionated in the waiting room. And make sure you show up 10-15 mins early (you've probably received a letter from Nielsen saying to show up a half hour early... 15 mins is fine). They want people with opinions but they want all of the people in the group to be heard, and if you're overpowering they will not take you in.
You will then go into a room with a large conference table and chairs all around it, with huge mirrors. Behind those mirrors will be sitting SOE. The executives from SOE will have much better food than you were given. In the room will be a moderator who works for Nielsen, who has been hired by SOE to conduct the group. The first thing this moderator will tell you is his/her background - that he/she works for Nielsen and that he/she is not an employee of SOE. S/he will also tell you that you are being video taped and audio taped.
I'm sure the focus group will very specifically target the expansion, and very possibly won't even touch on the rest of the game. I would not be surprised if the moderator doesn't know much about the game as a whole. It is his/her job to direct the discussion and keep it on the topics which SOE wants covered. The moderator will likely throw out some of the concepts of the expansion and ask for your comments. You will get into an in-depth discussion on these issues, as that's what focus groups are designed to do. If you start talking about how master powers needs to be upgraded, it's likely the moderator will at the very first opportunity steer the conversation back to the expansion. Maybe towards the end of the discussion the moderator will ask for general comments. It's likely that you won't have enough time to say what you really want and the SOE executives in attendence are probably so focused on the expansion that they will not listen even if you do.
Now I know that sounds pretty negative, but it's not so bad. It's just that the focus group is a marketing tool - they're there to get in-depth ideas and specific critiques from you on a very specific subject. Nearly everyone who goes to a focus group mention that they would like to attend another. You will have a good time, just don't expect to get many views from the forum across
.
But please let us know how it goes! Also note that my description may be off depending on the type of study they're doing. I described the most common focus group, but they could also have 35 of you in there at computers taking surveys (though that would be pretty damn expensive). Go in there with an open mind, share your opinions - not ours - and have fun.
- JediContent. There are tons of places that are not used on planets already. Massassi temple, Blue Leaf temple, Jedi Ruins on Dant, the Light and Dark Enclaves. There needs to be some far reaching, long quests associated with these places.
- More types of lightsabers/hilts. Dual wielded sabers, whether it's just animations or not we should be able to dual wield if we are master sabers. Also, we need more variety on hilts. Some of the hilts we currently have are just plain ugly.
- Robes should be crafted by Tailors!! The standard robes should still be received from the shrines, but after that it should all be Tailor made. Maybe have FS crafters be the only ones able to make them or something, but let the Tailor make them with varyiing stats. Also, let us wear cloaks on top of them.
- Increase jedi damage. We should not be able to be killed by a master marksman. We should be able to take on 4-5 regular players. Either increase our Combat Level or give us better damage on our Saber/Powers.
