yeah its no where near as simple as it seems - and jedi vs jedi sure a 400 max saber will be beaten by a 500 dam one.

the point i try to make in my post is that in PvP weapons work off the MIN damage and elemental - max damage is pretty much irrelevent

so 400-1184 rifle is no better than a 300-400 saber with 100 elemental

read the post i made hard numbers inside

So screw PvE? I would like to hit a lvl 10 mob for more than 600 or 700 damage, what about the double?

PvP is not everything in this game, and Jedi is not a PvP only profession, if you think it is, you fail to see the whole Jedi concept. Jedi are supposued to be multy taks tools, a tank, healer and damage dealer, all in one package. Currently, Jedi is only good at tanking.. that is if you are a defender. CMs and Doctors outheal us now, and damage... well in PvE is just a joke.

I prefer PvE over PvP, so why cant I have a 500-1200weapon too?

just awnna make a point about saber damage, i started my grind pre cu and tuned a single premium crystal (my only one) i was lucky to get a perfect tune on it, when the cu hit live i went about tuning the various goods i had in my posesion, i now have a 550 - 630 19fc post cu saber, only 1 thing is pre cu only one thing is perfect, it is not impossible to get a good post cu saber, i am proof of this and i just want the otehr post-CU jedi to know keep at it you will get lucky you will slowly get better your sabers will grow in strengthas you persist to tune those 'good's

sabers are not designed to kill level 10 opponents - they are aimed at doing alot of damage to high level mobs. just the way it is. if you ewant to kill level 10 mobs with your saber at CL80 then..

1) they are no threat to you so it doesnt matter if you kill them in 1 shot or 2

2) pick up a laser rifle - youll hit low CL mobs for more

its just the way the maths behind working out damage works.

Im not looking for a math class, but a logic one. Why do SoE say they want to bring balance to the game, but then come up with this crazy ideas? (Check Tigg's Pearl drop thread).

AndI dont think sabers are designed to kill high end mobs... didnt you say that the max damage is the one that is calculated in PvE only? so how does it help if we have half of max damage unlike other weapons?

Plus our attacks drain from 3 bars (Action, Mind and Force), its impractical for a Jedi to try to solo and expect to still have enough force to do something else. If they were to rise our damage, even if its for 33.3%, it would make a difference.

for easy targets it uses more towards the max value - for hard targets or well defendeed targets more towards the min - so vs eg CL94 NK your rifle hardly hurts him compared to a saber but vs a cl4 womprat the rifle has a higher max so wins. read my full post and youll get the idea

correct - playing jedi is more challenging than a regular profession - would you expect it any other way?

I honestly believe limiting the amount of Premmy Pearls drops in this game is truly a good thing. So many ppl argue the point of not being able to take out a BH or other elite prof simply because you can't do enough damage via sabers or master powers. Its no question this game doesn’t fall totallyinline with cannon, and if it did the imbalance in power would be immeasurable and unacceptable by the non-Jedicommunity. So why dopeople complaining about our sabers or master powersbeing so weak vs other standard professions? Simply because they don’t have a clue on the possibility the Jedi profession offers. Allot of the complaints i here (75% at least) come from ppl who are post-CU Jedi.If you honestly think about it, with the exception of improved weapons and SEAs, non-Jedi profs have reached the pinnacle with there profession, player skill becomes more of a determining factor inavatar distinction and recognition.

the Jedi Prof is the only profession that allows for an addition progression, even after a full template is completed, to gain power substantially. No other profession in this gamehas this possibility and thusthethe appeal the Jedi profession has currently over other profs is warranted, as it should be. On this simple premise alone the magnitude in which one needs to grind can be understood and accepted by the majority. Those who have realized this truth rarely complain about damage output, rarely do they Slander SOE for failing to make Jedi a viable profession, andhardly ever do they complain about being out matched by another profession, or collection of. In a profession such as Jedi, its not just a matter for SOE to balance outa Jedi from profession that fully template, but also a profession that has that unique ability to gain even more power innately over time of play and effort. the beginning of such a trail for a Jedi prof has to start extremely weak to eventually become extremely powerful.

I just honestly think ppl need to realize that they are only a pad wan, and comparatively should a padawan be so powerful as to obliterate and pillage though any opposition that arises? not if that opposition is full templated and knows what he's doing. and even if that was the case and padawans were that powerful, what would that say for tha knights, the guardians, or the masters to come soon after as you progress?

just an opinion

End of day at work and eom, attention span is short so did not read, I agree saber are fine and thee's NO need to increase output although there needs to be an improved system relating to lightsabers to increase the return in the form as a mini-game in constructing various componets with each providing a benefit to the end product.

There is a big difference between "challenging" and "unfair".

If I drain from a third pool, I excpect for my attacks to be stronger, if not in PvP at least in PvE.

If a Jedi takes as a minium 18 weeks to unlock, I expect a lightsaber to be the strongest weapon in the game.

But again, many people still think being a Jedi is a privilige, instead of a right.

But its a right, because we earned it, yet we get the shaft. And if you complain about how this or that works, you are told you are not "good enough" for Jedi.

the jedi profession is the only profession in the game that is currently widely gimped due to a resource shortage. There is no reason I should be limited to a weapon with a max damage of 550 if I am CL 80.

Don't say: Oh, you just need to work really hard to get enough pearls so that one will tune well.

Fencers and TKMs get quests that assure them that if they follow certain steps, they will receive the best weapons their professions can wield.

The main reason we're in this situation is because of people crying about high-level mobs.

man obviously u dont get it, u do have to work hard for pearls in hopes of getting a new one, we playing the same game here? I'm not even gonna make a comparison to the guys who did work to get there pearls, it means nothing to the post-CU jedi regardless. stop looking for handouts and have patients.

were our pre cu friends complaining when they had to kill many canyons (befor teh population explosion and the cross server battle of tatooine killed the spawns) just to get that 1 prem for it to tune 38 38 -7? nope and those dragonds were a damn sight harder, all things imo concidered

I'd just like to point out that a teen/pre-teen padawan took down 8-9 hardened clone troopers before he went down in Episode 3. That is a pretty apparent large power curve as introduced through canon material.

if we were any were near as powerful as the jedi in the movies we wouldnt have a game at all. ppl would drop in 1, 2 hits tops. lone jedi could desimate entire regements of troopers. theres a reason why things are in this game as you dont see them im the movies. am i assuming too much in believe ppl understand the lack or corrilation between games and there movie counter parts, or even more important, why theres a lack of direct corrilation?

You obviously have pre-cu pearls (I could read your entire rant...seemed awefully long)...but just based on the title..I can say with 50% certaintly this is a "gimp them, I got mine" kinda post...the other 50% chance is you are not a Jedi.
